Los Angeles, CA (Tuesday, August 6, 2013) – Once again, “La Música No Se Toca” from Alejandro Sanz maintains its position as one of the 10 most sold pop albums in the U.S. and Puerto Rico, forty-four weeks after its release according to the Soundscan monitoring system published by Billboard magazine.
“La Musica No Se Toca” is the most success Latin pop album of the moment. It has been certified quintuple-platinum in Spain, double-platinum in Mexico and Colombia, platinum in Argentina and Venezuela, and gold in the United States and Puerto Rico, Brazil Uruguay, Ecuador, Chile and Central America
Alejandro is the recipient of THREE GRAMMY awards and SIXTEEN LATIN GRAMMY awards and has sold more than 22 million albums throughout the span of his career. Alejandro Sanz will be presented with an honorary Doctor of Music degree from Berklee College of Music on Wednesday, November 6, 2013. The President of the Berklee College of Music, Roger Brown, will present the degree to Sanz. Past honorary doctorate recipients include Duke Ellington, Chucho Valdes, Juan Luis Guerra, Paco de Lucia, Aretha Franklin, Paul Simon, Sting, Gloria Estefan, and Willie Nelson. Following the ceremony, Sanz will perform a career-spanning concert backed by Berklee students.
