Alejandro Sanz La Mùsica No Se Toca nets five Latin Grammy nominations

Producer Julio Reyes Copello nominated for Producer of the Year for La Mùsica No Se Toca

With five nominations for his latest album La Música No Se Toca , Spanish superstar/ songwriter/producer Alejandro Sanz was one of the top nominees for the 2013 Latin GRAMMY Awards as announced today in Los Angeles during a press conference hosted by the Latin Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (LARAS).   His nominations include Album of the Year and Best Contemporary Pop Album of the Year for La Música No Se Toca.  His hit single from the album,  “Mi Marciana”, was nominated for Song of the Year and Record of the Year.  Julio Reyes Copello was nominated for Producer of the Year for his work on La Música No Se Toca.

The winners will be announced during the 14th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards taking place on November 21, 2013. The show will be broadcast live on the Univision Network (8 p.m. EST & PST/7 p.m. CST) from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.
 
La Música No Se Toca debuted at #1 on Billboard’s ‘Top Latin Album’ chart and has been certified quintuple-Platinum in Spain; double-Platinum in Mexico and Colombia; Platinum in Argentina and Venezuela; and Gold in the United States and Puerto Rico, Brazil, Uruguay, Ecuador, Chile and Central America. The first single from the album, “No Me Compares”, was #1 on Billboard’s ‘Hot Latin Songs’ chart for several weeks and reached #1 in sales on iTunes in the U.S. and 17 countries around the world.
 
On Monday, Sanz released “This Game is Over” which was recorded in Miami, London and Madrid, and features performances from Emeli Sande and Jamie Foxx.    The track is included in the upcoming live album “La Música No Se Toca (En Vivo),” a CD/DVD which captures an unforgettable concert that took place on June 19 at the Estadio Olímpico La Cartuja in Sevilla, Spain.
 
Sanz kicks off his Mexican tour on Oct. 1 at the Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City, playing there a total of six nights. He then continues for eight more dates throughout the month of October in Monterrey, Durango, León, Aguascalientes, Villahermosa, Querétaro and Puebla.
 
Alejandro Sanz is one of the most internationally renowned Latin artists, respected as both a songwriter and musician. Sanz has sold over 23 million albums worldwide throughout his career and has garnered 16 Latin GRAMMY Awards and three GRAMMY Awards. Sanz has released 15 albums (11 studio albums), all certified Platinum in Spain, Latin America and the United States. He has collaborated with the legendary Tony Bennett, The Corrs, Alicia Keys, Miguel Bosé, René from Calle 13, Joaquín Sabina, Ivete Sangalo and  Shakira.
 
Alejandro Sanz will be presented with an honorary Doctorate of Music degree from Berklee College of Music on Wednesday, November 6, 2013.  Sanz is being recognized for his achievements and influence in contemporary music and for his enduring contributions to international culture. The President of the Berklee College of Music, Roger Brown, will present the degree to him. Following the ceremony, Sanz will perform a career-spanning concert backed by Berklee students.

Con cinco nominaciones para su último álbum La Música No Se Toca, el cantautor/productor español Alejandro Sanz estuvo entre los más nominados al Latin GRAMMY 2013 en el anuncio hecho el día de hoy en la ciudad de Los Angeles durante una conferencia de prensa organizada por La Academia Latina de la Grabación (LARAS). Sus nominaciones incluyen Álbum del Año y Mejor Álbum Vocal Pop Contemporáneo por La Música No Se Toca. El éxito “Mi Marciana” del álbum fue nominado para Canción del Año y Grabación del Año. Julio Reyes Copello fue nominado para Productor del Año por su trabajo en La Música No Se Toca.
