The legendary singer/songwriter/performer Juan Gabriel was hospitalized on the day following his three hour, sold-out show at Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas on April 14. He was released briefly but readmitted when doctors recommended that the rest period be extended in order for his lungs to make a complete recovery. Juan Gabriel is renowned for his generous and extended live performances, so doctors wanted to make sure he had time to rest and make a full recovery.

Juan Gabriel wants to thank everyone for the messages and manifestations of love and support he has received during this time by all his followers, friends, family and the press in general. He is eager to return to the stage to perform for his fans.

The family of Juan Gabriel wants to make it unequivocally clear that he is not now and has never suffered from any malignant disease, and all reports to the contrary are completely false.

Gabriel kicked off the U.S. leg of his VOLVER 2014 tour on 4/3 and 4/4 with two sold out shows at the Allstate Center in Chicago, where the Chicago Tribune raved, “…like a conquering hero…(Gabriel) once again displayed his total command of the stage. His 2.5-hour concert Friday, with its impeccable showmanship and boundless energy, confirmed that he’s the reigning king (elder statesman division) of the Latin pop realm.” Sold out shows at Madison Square Garden, the Toyota Center in Houston and Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas followed.

Juan Gabriel’s new album, “Mis 40 en Bellas Artes”, is set for release on May 6. The album was recorded during his show last year at el Palacio de las Bellas Artes in Mexico City and features his world-class production and incredible live performances from the show.
