AVILA BROTHERS

The Avila Brothers are all about cutting-edge music that creates trends instead of merely following them. This pair of multi-faceted and in-demand innovators combine their love and respect for music with their distinctive songwriting talent to create a success story that will serve as an inspiration to others on the journey to fulfilling their own dreams.

Bobby and IZ (the Avila Brothers) joined forces with Flyte Tyme Productions, the acclaimed production company headed by multi-Grammy Award winners Jimmy "Jam" Harris and Terry Lewis. Their partnership came as no surprise considering Bobby and IZ's remarkable achievements over the last few years. They have dedicated themselves to crafting music and recording since childhood. Growing up to the sounds of Donny Hathaway, Stevie Wonder and Prince to Tribe Called Quest, Pharcyde and Public Enemy to Steely Dan and James Taylor played an important part in their development as songwriters and musical artists. Between the two, Bobby and IZ have been enlisted by a virtual "Who's Who" of high profile artists who have tapped their proven abilities as writers and producers.

Among the projects under the AVILA BROTHERS banner are seven tracks on the multi-platinum release from superstar Usher entitled Confessions which debuted at #1 on Billboard's Top 200 Albums chart and sold 1.1 million in its first week and also won a Grammy for Best. R&B album of the year. The fraternal duo also wrote and produced two songs for Mary J. Blige's Multi-platinum release entitled "The Breakthrough" and also won a Grammy for best R&B album of the year. Most recently, The AVILA BROTHERS produced and wrote seven songs for Chaka Kahn's release entitled "Funk This" which won The Avilas two Grammys for Best R&B album of the year and Best R&B song written by The brothers which Featured Chaka Kahn & Mary J.Blige for best Duo/ Group.

As a team the duo got their start producing tracks for Michael Jackson's custom label, with credits that include the female soul trio Brownstone. They would go on to work closely with rap pioneer Ice T, writing and producing material on two albums, as well as creating original music for such feature films as Mo' Money and A Million To One. Since its formation, The Avila Brothers have been on a virtually non-stop schedule of writing and producing, Among the many standout projects in their resume are the Paramount Pictures feature film, Fighting Temptations, starring Beyonce Knowles and Cuba Gooding, Jr. The duo also wrote and produced multiple tracks for a Chante Moore and Kenny Lattimore duet album, Things That Lovers Do, Aretha Franklin, Kelly Price, Macy Gray as well as providing the Emmy-nominated theme song to NBA Inside Stuff, the ABC-TV Saturday morning sports show hosted by Ahmad Rashad.

In broadcast realms, the Avila's were also the talent behind the acclaimed 2002 Gap Christmas ads featuring memorable reworkings of "Joy To The World" and "Love Train." Another Gap ad highlights the Avila's rendition of "Feelin' Groovy," as performed by Mya and Angie Stone.

But even more impressive is the list of projects from the dynamic duo. Included is the 2005 multi-platinum solo release from Mary J. Blige, Gwen Stefani, Missy Elliot, Earth Wind & Fire, Jessica Simpson, Heather Headley, Chaka Kahn, Mariah Carey, The O'Jays, & Leela James.

As if all this weren't enough proof of their extraordinary musical talent, the Avila's have also built a solid reputation as artists in their own right. IZ has garnered industry-wide acclaim as a virtuoso drummer and bassist, performing on tour with Macy Gray. Brother Bobby, meanwhile, has recorded no less than five solo albums, including My Destiny, his collaboration with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis on Perspective/ A&M records, the superstar team that has long served as the Avila's mentors. Most recently, Bobby has applied his potent talents to a new solo record entitled "Audiography", a creative masterpiece that takes the concept album to a new plateau. The album's new original material chronicles Bobby's experiences as a young performer in the rough and tumble world of the music business, and through music that echoes such prime influences as Donny Hathaway, Stevie Wonder and Prince, he tells a timeless story of faith and determination from a very personal perspective.

With an multi-instrumental ability that encompasses IZ's ability to mastermind innovative beats through drums/bass and turntable play, along with Bobby's virtuoso ability to create on everything from keyboards, bass, guitar to harmonica, drum programming, turntables and talk box.

The Avila Brothers Experience is all about cutting edge music that creates trends instead of just following them. It's a team whose accomplishments are matched only by its brilliant prospects for the future.
