A “TIMELESS” LEGEND BRIDGES GENERATIONS OF MUSIC
“TIMELESS”---A COLLABORATIVE ALBUM WITH WILL.I.AM FEATURING STEVIE WONDER, JOHN LEGEND, JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE AND MANY OTHERS
LOS ANGELES…Sergio Mendes, whose worldwide success with his group Brazil 66 helped internationalize the reach of Brazilian music, and will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas, come together to meld samba and bossa nova beats with hip hop rhythms on the extremely engaging album, “TIMELESS.” Set for release on February l4, 2006 on Concord Records/Starbucks Hear Music, “TIMELESS” guest stars include Black Eyed Peas, Stevie Wonder, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, John Legend, Justin Timberlake and many more.
“TIMELESS” is an enormously successful mix of Sergio’s cool sensibilities and will.i. am’s positive hip hop. The album includes a mix of new tracks and classics like “Mas Que Dada” in Spanish, Portuguese and English.
The first single with video is “Yes, Yes Y’all,” featuring Black Thought of the Roots, Charli 2Na of Jurassic 5, Debi Nova and will.i.am.

Brazilian - born Sergio Mendes has had string of international successes beginning with his group Brazil 66’s Top 5 track “Mas Que Nada” in 1966, continuing with hit singles that regularly made the Top 5. He is one of Latin America’s most popular musicians. In l992, his “Brasileiro” album paid tribute to the folklore of Brazil, endearing him to several generations of music lovers. Mendes has received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Latin Academy of Recording Artists (LARAS) on November 2. This Special Merit Award is presented by vote of The Latin Recording Academy's Trustees to performers who, during their lifetimes, have made creative contributions of outstanding artistic significance to the field of recording.

THE BLACK EYED PEAS CONNECTION:
The socially conscious vision and hit tracks of the Black Eyed Peas has resulted in five hit albums and worldwide success. The group has been a longtime friend of the Latin music community and appeared on the Latin Grammy telecast and the MTV Latin Music Awards shows. Sergio Mendes collaborated on the Peas’ 2003 hit album “Elephunk” and performed with them in the feature film, Be Cool.
