El gran concierto Soy Colombia 2014, producido por Wakamba Entertainment y Cardenas Marketing Network se llevó a cabo este fin de semana con un lleno total en el Prudential Center de la ciudad de Newark.

Por más de dos horas los fans disfrutaron de la mejor música Colombiana cantando al unísono con sus artistas favoritos y bailando al ritmo de los mejores exponentes del vallenato, la sala y la música urbana.

La lista de superestrellas participando en el concierto incluyeron a Silvestre Dangond, Jorge Celedón al igual que las orquestas de salsa más emblemáticas de Colombia, Grupo Niche y Orquesta Guayacán. El concierto también contó con la participación del legendario, Charrito Negro, uno de los grandes exponentes de la “Música de Despecho” y la estrella del reggaetón, Nicky Jam.

Silvestre Dangond, la superestrella internacional del vallenato es considerado uno de los principales representantes de la “Nueva ola” de la música vallenata. Dangond ha lanzado 9 álbumes incluyendo su más reciente producción, La 9ª Batalla. El ganador del Latin Grammy e icono del vallenato, Jorge Celedón, es uno de los más aclamados y respetados cantantes de la música vallenata. Su éxito “Esta Vida” se ha convertido en un himno de la música popular de Colombia.

Grupo Niche y la Orquesta Guayacan son dos de las orquestas de salsa más reconocidas a nivel mundial. Ambas orquestas han realizado conciertos alrededor del mundo comprobando que la buena música, no tiene fronteras.

Alex Sensation, uno de los DJ’s y locutores latinos más famosos de Nueva York participó como maestro de ceremonia y puso a bailar a toda la fanaticada con su set de la mejor música del momento. El locutor de descendencia Colombiana, conduce uno de los shows de radio más exitosos de la ciudad de Nueva York, La Mega Mezcla en Mega 97.9. El talentoso DJ colaboró junto con Pitbull, Sensato y David de Zona Rosa en el mega éxito mundial, “Noche de Placer.”

Para las más de 15 personas que se dieron cita en el  Prudential Center, el concierto Soy Colombia 2014 fue el mejor lugar para compartir y celebrar en grande la independencia de su país con los máximos exponentes de la música Colombiana.

Most recently, at the Indie Gathering Film Festival in Cleveland, OH, where “Dasha Hara” won for “Music Video – Other Category,” and this week, BaK won an Award of Excellence for “Dasha Hara,” and merit awards for “Life and Perception” and “Too Soon” at the San Diego Best Shorts Film Festival.

About BaK

Bak is a musical entity comprising two people in the vein of composers (think Andrew Lloyd Webber meets Led Zeppelin / Queen / Black Sabbath). A grand and theatrical image is the way BaK’s music presents itself.

All music and lyrics are original works written, composed and arranged by Beau and Kit (Beau plays guitar / bass / baglama; and Kit plays drums / percussion and keys / piano). Composition takes place in Sydney, Australia. The star-studded lineup includes vallenato’s most renowned singers, Silvestre Dangond and Jorge Celedon as well as Colombia’s most emblematic salsa orchestras, Grupo Niche and Orquesta Guayacan. Also, the legendary Charrito Negro, one of the greatest exponents of the popular Colombian music genre, “Musica de Despecho,” and reggaeton superstar, Nicky Jam.

International Vallenato superstar, Silvestre Dangond is considered one of the mainstream representatives of the “new wave” of vallenato musicians, he has released nine critically acclaimed albums including his most recent La 9a Batalla. Latin Grammy winner and vallenato icon, Jorge Celedon is one of the most acclaimed vallenato singers, his song “Esta Vida” has become an anthem of Colombian popular music.

Grupo Niche and Orquesta Guayacan are two of the most renowned and popular tropical acts in the world. Both orchestras have traveled around the globe proving that good music can transcend across borders.

Alex Sensation, New York’s most respected and famous Latin radio DJ, will be hosting the event. The Colombian radio personality hosts one of the biggest Latin radio shows in the New York area, La Mega Mezcla on Mega 97.9. The superstar DJ collaborated with Pitbull, Sensato & David from Zona Rosa on the worldwide hit, “Noche de Placer.”

For the more than 300,000 strong Colombian community in the tri-state area, Soy Colombia 2014 brings together in one stage, the biggest stars of the most popular Colombian music genres. This is the first time that these artists have appeared in a concert where each artist will perform a full set of music from their own repertoire.

A year ago, Carlos Vives released an album that was predestined to come back into the hearts of fans who waited eight years for his return to the international music scene. The first part of “Corazon Profundo” not only led in sales, his singles reached the top of the Billboard charts, and was praised and rewarded. It also needed a second part, which today the Colombian singer presents to the world, it is the continuity of a CD that is now known as “Mas + Corazon Profundo”. “For the first time in my career I did two albums in one year, this gives me the opportunity to incorporate what was missing in the first, including the cumbias, and vallenatos, and experimenting with the porros. Here we mixed sounds, those musical patterns which I always speak about, this album is better in every way, it has all the learnings of my songwriting. You’ll also find surprising songs done in ways I’ve never done before, a whole different sound.” Explains Carlos Vives.

“Más + Corazón Profundo” has the same winning formula shown at the 2013 Latin Grammys with the first version of “Corazon Profundo”; songs composed by Carlos, music and production shared with the award winning Colombian producer, Andres Castro, mix engineer Curt Schneider, and mastered by Tom Coyne, recorded in studios in Los Angeles, Miami, and Colombia.

In this unreleased album comes 10 completely new songs with additional bonus tracks (The two versions of “La Copa De Todos” the official anthem of Coca Cola for the World Cup in English/Spanish and Portugese/Spanish). In addition, the salsa version of “La Foto De Los Dos” and the extended version of “Volvi a Nacer”, the original version as Carlos wrote it.

The album has already produced it’s first single, “El Mar De Sus Ojos” which is dominating on the radio charts in Colombia at the #1 spot, as well as on iTunes. It was also #1 on Billboard’s latin chart in the US.

The next single is one of the most anticipated songs off the album, “Cuando Nos Volvamos a Encontrar”, a collaboration with international salsa star, Marc Anthony.

•    El Sueño: “Literally is the narration of a dream or a nightmare say best but the best part is precisely that where it ends. It is a sound with a cheerful coincidence to reggae music.”
•    Las Cosas de la vida: “How to explain, this song has a lot of vallenato sentiments, and at the same time is modern, is a ballad, is the rock from my country, and that is how my songs are.”
•    Hijo del vallenato: “Simply to remind me, and remind my friends what I am. It’s a merengue-vallenato which the new generation rarely record. It brings me back to my roots immediately.”
•    La Cumbia de Todos: “It’s the cumbia which was born in Colombia and went very far in the world; it’s a tribute to our cumbieros.”
•    Sueños Rotos: “It’s a sad ballad of a sad story where the spirit triumphs.”
These songs are by Carlos Vives and reflect who he is, of that person who beyond the stage thinks of others. “An artist need to be connected to the people, and work for the people; make songs that are useful to them and understand that many of the things that happen to us, happen to others. Juan Gabriel, cantante y compositor mexicano, nominado 6 veces al Grammy, continúa recuperándose exitosamente de sus problemas respiratorios y los doctores confirman que el reconocido artista puede reanudar su aclamada gira VOLVER 2014 en septiembre. Después de haber permanecido hospitalizado en un hospital de Las Vegas, a causa de una neumonía, fue dado de alta el 19 de Mayo y actualmente se encuentra en un lugar aislado, completando su tratamiento y recuperando fuerzas.

*Los Ángeles – Boletos para el 1 y 4 de mayo: desafortunadamente, por conflictos de fechas, los conciertos del 1 y 4 de mayo en el Nokia Theatre L.A Live tuvieron que ser cancelados. El reembolso podrá ser obtenido en el lugar donde compraron los boletos.

Los otros 3 conciertos fueron reprogramados de la siguiente manera:

Los portadores de boletos para estos conciertos deben guardar los boletos originales los cuales serán validados en las nuevas fechas mencionadas anteriormente. Si el público no puede asistir a los conciertos en las nuevas fechas, podrán obtener su reembolso hasta el 2 de junio en el lugar donde compraron los boletos.

Así mismo, la gira que estaba programada para Sudamérica y México, dará inicio el 14 de Agosto en la ciudad de Chiclayo al norte de Perú.
