JASON CASSIDY’S DEBUT ALBUM ‘MY REDEMPTION’ IN STORES TODAY

“HONKY TONK HEAVEN” #1 ON TEXAS REGIONAL RADIO REPORT TWO WEEKS IN A ROWCASSIDY PERFORMS LIVE AT CACTUS MUSIC, HOUSTON TONIGHT

Country singer/songwriter Jason Cassidy releases his debut album MY REMPTION today, 10/4, on Houston-based indie label A-Blake Records. The album features Cassidy’s hit single “Honky Tonk Heaven,” which held the #1 spot on the influential Texas Regional Radio Report for two weeks in a row, and other originals such as “What If” and “Sounds Like An Angel to Me.” To support his album release, Cassidy has a series of in-store appearances at Hastings, one of the region’s largest retailers. He’ll perform live tonight for his record release party at Cactus Music in Houston, TX, from 5-6 p.m. (See other appearances below).

Hailing from Montgomery, TX, Cassidy describes his sound as traditional country and honky-tonk with an edge. Radio and critics love it. The Dallas Morning News says, “Yup, he’s pure country.” Cassidy is a throwback to the early 80s era of George Strait. “George Straight is pretty much why I got into music in the first place,” he says. He’s got a smokin’ band, and has been blowing away audiences in clubs and during TV performances, most recently on Good Day Dallas.

Inspired by a buddy who could name every country tune as soon as it came on the radio, the competitive Cassidy started listening. “I totally fell in love with it and learned every single song,” he recalls. Before long, he was fronting a popular Houston-area country cover act. Just a short while later, he was on his own. Cassidy’s voice, which scales from a resonant baritone to a melodic high tenor, outdoes plenty of Music Row’s biggest award collectors. His first single, “Sounds Like an Angel to Me,” climbed inside the top 20 on the Texas Music Charts, while “Honky Tonk Heaven” soared up the Texas charts week after week until it hit #1.
Be sure to catch Cassidy’s performance tonight at Cactus Music, located at 2110 Portsmouth, Houston, TX 77098. The phone number is 713-526-9272.

“Todavía practico a diario” dice Jessy.

SAX SENSATION/SINGER JESSY J SET TO RELEASE HOT SAUCE SEPTEMBER 6

Featuring GRAMMY® legendary players Paul Brown, Ray Parker Jr, Joe Sample and Gregg Karukas, and drummer Harvey Mason

Mexican-American Player is on the Road with Cristian Castro.

Nothing wakes up food like salsa picante – and nothing will wake up your ears like Jessy J’s September 6th album, Hot Sauce. The award-winning and gorgeous Mexican-American sax player and singer, who has been featured in People en Español’s 50 Most Beautiful and grew up listening to everyone from Banda El Recodo to Trio Los Panchos, has created a special blend of ten fiery tunes, seasoned with authentic Latin zing and spiced with tasty jazz flavors.
Jessy J is currently on the road as a featured player in Cristian Castro’s band and in clubs on her own (see below). The accomplished saxophonist/singer/composer’s third album spotlights her collaborations with some of today’s most prominent contemporary jazz musicians, including guitarists Paul Brown (who produced the record) and Ray Parker Jr, keyboardists Joe Sample and Gregg Karukas, and drummer Harvey Mason of Fourplay. Hot Sauce showcases eight originals – from mild to wild – along with adventurous new arrangements of Francis Anthony ‘Eg’ White’s pop hit “Leave Right Now” and Duke Ellington’s jazz classic “In a Sentimental Mood.”

Jessy embraces her Latin heritage on her new album. The mellow ballad “Rio Grande” displays the best of this seductive and alluring style. “This song touches on the political energies that are being discussed regarding new immigration laws. I feel strongly that people shouldn’t be profiled based on their appearance. I believe that we should all have a pathway to citizenship. My mom is from Texas, and my dad is from Sinaloa, Mexico,” she says. “I’m really proud to be a Latina role model. It’s such a rich culture, and I have an affinity to music from both sides of the border.”

The title track, “Hot Sauce,” embodies the essence of the project. “This album is all about contrasts,” says Jessy. “That’s why I titled it Hot Sauce, the jazz elements are cool, but the Latin flavors are really hot. Although I’m from a new generation, I really enjoy working with the great ‘old-school’ musicians and totally respect the straight ahead jazz tradition.”

More than just another pretty face, Jessy J worked diligently to achieve recognition for her finely honed chops, songwriting skills and a strong sense of originality. Jessy was born in Portland, Oregon, she’s played the saxophone for over 20 years. An accomplished singer and dancer, she sang background vocals for Michael Bolton, played with the Henry Mancini Jazz Orchestra and performed in the off-Broadway production of Blast! She’s also done studio work with Michael Bublé, Seal, the Temptations, Jessica Simpson, Michael Bolton and Mexico’s pop diva Gloria Trevi.

Tequila Moon, Jessy’s auspicious debut on Peak Records, a division of Concord Music Group, was released in March 2008, and the title track hit #1 on Billboard’s jazz chart. The hit “Tropical Rain,” from her 2009 release, True Love, reached the #1 spot on the Smooth Jazz Top 20 Countdown, as well as on theBillboard jazz charts.

Jessy’s success is the product of a lot of hard work and a never ending focus on accomplishing her goals. “I still practice every day,” she says. “I love to play music because my spirit feels at peace. I dreamed of playing music as a child and now music is my life.”

USO Hosts Doobie Brothers Concert at Walter Reed

A salute to Walter Reed Army Medical Center’s tradition of service and celebration of the transition to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, as well as USO’s continued partnership on behalf of wounded warriors and their families.

Today the USO of Metropolitan Washington hosted a special concert featuring Grammy award-winning and platinum selling rock band The Doobie Brothers for hundreds of service members and their families. This unique USO concert was a salute to Walter Reed Army Medical Center’s 102-year tradition of service and commemorates the facility’s transition to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. The Doobie Brothers are long-time supporters of troops and military families, having entertained and visited service men and women across East Asia and the Pacific. Additionally, the band has donated and raised more than $2.5 million dollars in support of service heroes. The last 12 months marked a breakthrough year for the band, with the release of “World Gone Crazy” and the exclusive debut of their video “Far From Home” on USO.org.

The USO of Metropolitan Washington (USO-Metro) has managed programs and services to support military medical facilities in the National Capitol Region since 1941. With Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom, USO-Metro expanded its hospital services programming to support the growing number of service members and their families who are recovering and receiving treatment at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, National Naval Medical Center, and Warrior Transition Units at Fort Meade, Fort Belvoir and the Hunter Holmes McGuire Richmond VAMC.

USO-Metro supports these military heroes and their families through programs including celebrity handshake tours, emergency food and housing assistances, on-site concerts by well-known entertainers, excursions, as well as therapeutic and adaptive activities. Over the years, USO-Metro has continued to celebrate Bob Hope’s spirit by providing USO Shows and celebrity visits all year long to the patients and family members recovering at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Concerts have included Jimmy Buffet, The Beach Boys, Wynonna Judd, Ryan Cabrera & Josh Kelley, Gary Sinise & the Lt. Dan Band, Darryl Worley, Kathy Griffin and Saving Abel.

In the coming weeks Walter Reed will relocate to National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda where the two facilities will join together to become Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. As part of US’s Operation Enduring Care, one of two USO Wounded Warrior and Family centers will be built at this location and the other will be located at Fort Belvoir. These USO centers will be a place where wounded warriors can heal and receive support, along with their families. More than a traditional USO center, the buildings at WRNMMC and Fort Belvoir, are the largest initiative undertaken by the USO since its inception in 1941. By bringing together a family kitchen, children’s play spaces, recreational areas such as movie theaters and golf simulators, classrooms and a learning center, healing gardens, a laundry, and a business center — expressly for wounded warriors and their families — under one roof, the USO at WRNMMC and Fort Belvoir will become a home away from home for wounded warriors and their families.

The event featured guest speakers including General Peter Chiarelli, Vice Chief of Staff of the U.S. Army; Major General Carla Hawley-Bowland, Commanding General of the Northern Regional Medical Command and Walter Reed Army Medical Center; and Elaine Rogers, president of the USO of Metropolitan Washington. Concert funds were provided by the USO, supported by its worldwide strategic partners. Additional, in-kind support was provided by Outback Steakhouse, Häagen-Dazs Shoppe, Giant Food, The Louis Berger Group and the Ranger Group.

LONESTAR STATE’S JASON CASSIDY’S “HONKY TONK HEAVEN” IS TOP 10 IN TEXAS

60+ STATIONS PLAYING FIRST SINGLE FROM MONTGOMERY, TX-BORN SONGWRITER’S AUGUST DEBUT, ‘MY REDEMPTION’.

Songwriter/performer Jason Cassidy’s newest single, “Honky Tonk Heaven “, hits the Top 10 on the Best in Texas Music Chart this week. The 6-foot-tall Texan describes his sound as traditional country “and honky-tonk with an edge”, and radio seems to love it – over 60 radio stations are playing the track, and have been every week for the last 12 weeks, as its jumped its way up the charts. “Honky Tonk Heaven” is from Cassidy’s debut album release, MY REDEMPTION (August 30), on Houston-based A-Blake Records.

Jason Cassidy grew up in Montgomery, TX working side by side with his daddy building muscle cars and hot rods.  A 1961 Impala bubble top he built has appeared in several magazines and made the “good guys” monthly issue about six times. Inspired by a buddy who could name every country tune as soon as it came on the radio, the competitive Cassidy started listening. “I totally fell in love with it and learned every single song,” he recalls. Before long, he was fronting a popular Houston-area country cover act. Just a short while later, he was on his own.

An affable guy, Cassidy, whose voice scales from a resonant baritone to a melodic high tenor, could go lyric-for-lyric with any Nashville word-slinger.  And right now, Cassidy isn’t waiting for much. He’s been playing shows like crazy, breaking attendance records and burning it up on stage with a band that is as good as it gets: On fiddle is Scott “Skittle” Johnson who toured with Charlie Daniels (when he was all of 17!) , played with Vince Gill, Clint Black, John Rich, Asleep at the Wheel and many others;  on guitar is Scott Dixon who played lead with Neil McCoy for 11 years; on drums is Casey Korkmas who has played with JB and the Moonshine Band, Beck and Cauthen; and on bass is super-up-and comer Jacob DeLott. Jason calls them the Angel Band because, as he told Fox news, “God brought us together!”

Look for him all over Texas this month, on the biggest radio stations and playing shows:

7/22 – Cleburne, TX – 106.9/107.1 Ranch Radio

7/22 – Stephenville, TX – City Limits

7/23 – Cleburne, TX – Caddo Street Bar

7/29 – Crosby, TX – Rowdy Bucks

8/7 – Grapevine, TX – Glass Cactus, 95.9 The Ranch

8/12 – Houston, TX – Mo’s Place

8/25 – CMT/Texas Campaign

And more to come.
