Alongside Alan’s first chart-topper, 1990’s “Here in the Real World,” fans will find such enduring favorites as “Gone Country” (1995); Jackson’s poignant, GRAMMY-winning “Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)” (2001); the Jimmy Buffett duet “It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere” (2003); last year’s “Country Boy,” and many more.  Also included are the beautiful “Look at Me” (previously available on the 2008 soundtrack to Billy: The Early Years) and Jackson’s never-before-released take on the classic Johnny Cash hit, “Ring of Fire.”

Josiah Leming’s album debut ‘Come On Kid’ set for September 14 on Warner Bros. Records

Singer songwriter Josiah Leming will release his debut album for Warner Bros Records, COME ON KID, on September 14.

“Leming is magnetic,” LA Times

“The music that explodes from the rickety piano is booming and urgent,”MTV.com

LOS ANGELES, CA (July 19, 2010) – Singer songwriter Josiah Leming, whose compelling performances and personal story about living in his car captivated fans in season seven of American Idol will release his debut album for Warner Bros Records, COME ON KID, on September 14. Leming wrote or co-wrote all the tracks on the album and plays guitar and keyboards throughout.   Jesse Owen Astin, David Kosten, Martin Terefe and Warren Huart each produced tracks on the album which was recorded in Los Angeles and London.   The first single from the album is “Maybe” which goes to radio this month.    Leming is “magnetic in person…at once disarming and electrifying”(Los Angeles Times), and fans can look forward to seeing him on the road this summer in an extensive tour that will take him to 25 major markets in the U.S. (see below for itinerary).

Leming was signed to Warner Bros. Records by Sr. VP of A&R Perry Watts-Russell who has worked with Radiohead, Marc Cohn, and Everclear and who signed Damien Rice, Muse, Secret Machines and others to Warner Bros.  Since Idol, Leming toured the US and released two EPs for WBR.  Early last summer his mother passed away after a long illness.  Afterwards, Leming says, “I took the entire summer to find my footing.  Both emotionally and in my career.”  After a period of self reflection, he recorded the majority of COME ON KID. http://www.billboard.com/#/news/former-idol-standout-josiah-leming-to-drop-1004105198.story?tag=hpfeed

On COME ON KID, the 21 year old artist’s, songwriting skill and powerfully expressive voice are on full display. The songs on the new album range from encouraging, to reflective to clearly autobiographical. And his performance is more powerful than ever.   “Leming does not play piano so much as he assaults it,” wrote MTV.com. “The music that explodes from the rickety piano is booming and urgent, a little unsettling, incredibly raw. Honest. And then there’s his voice, which is startling as much for its clarity as for the reckless way Leming wields it”.

Alan Jackson’s hard hat and a hammer video shot on location with working men and women of america

STEEL WORKERS, FIREMEN, LONGSHOREMEN AND OTHERS, STAR IN THE NEW VIDEO WHICH DEBUTS THIS WEEKEND ON CMT
“God bless the working man,” sings Alan Jackson in Hard Hat and a Hammer, the latest hit single from his acclaimed FREIGHT TRAIN album.

Award-winning director Theresa Wingert (Carrie Underwood, Dierks Bentley, Taylor Swift) wanted to echo Jackson’s sentiments, so she went all across the Southeast to film real working men and women on construction sites and in mines, at fire stations and in restaurants, to star with Jackson in the new video for Hard Hat and a Hammer, which makes its world premier this Friday, June 18, on CMT’s Big New Music Weekend.
Behind the scenes photo:   http://www.dbaronmedia.com/component/option,com_phocagallery/Itemid,129/id,21/view,category/
Wingert filmed strong imagery of the Americans “getting the job done” as a celebration of the great workforce that is “the glue that keeps the world together”. Featured are miners from Stilhouse mining in Benham, KY, workers from the Bayou La Batre, AL shipyard, railroad workers from TRR Railroad in Mobile and more. She filmed at paper mills, foundries, taxi stands, Nashville’s Fire Station #16 and Bar-B-Cutie and more than a dozen other locations (see below).

Jackson’s “easygoing ode to the working man” (Billboard) is the latest of his songs that honors his working class roots and family upbringing.  Last month he honored the fallen miners and rescue workers from April’s Upper Big Branch mining disaster with a benefit concert performance at the Charleston, WV Civic Center.  The 31 families affected and 230 rescue workers who were on site at the nation’s biggest mining disaster in four decades were offered free tickets to the show.  Jackson met with the families who lost loved ones and raised over $150,000 for the Montcoal Mining Disaster Fund.

Just last week, Billboard Magazine announced that Jackson was voted in the top 5 of the top 25 country artists of the last 25 years.  FREIGHT TRAIN, his 18th career album, was produced by longtime collaborator Keith Stegall and features 12 songs, 8 of which were written by Jackson.  In a moving tribute to the legendary Vern Gosdin, who passed away last year and for whom Jackson has long expressed admiration, Jackson enlisted Lee Ann Womack to record “Till the End,” Gosdin’s 1977 classic duet with Janie Fricke.

Alan Jackson’s ‘it’s just that way’ video debuts next monday

“It’s Just That Way”, the first video from Alan Jackson’s March 30th album FREIGHT TRAIN, will make its world premier Monday, February 22.

“It’s Just That Way”, the first video from Alan Jackson’s March 30th album FREIGHT TRAIN, will make its world premier Monday, February 22. The video was filmed at an old antebellum farmhouse in Spring Hill, TN and at various locations in Tampa, FL, and directed by the award-winning Roman White. The charming and whimsical story depicted in the video was written by Jackson’s oldest daughter Mattie. “We looked at a lot of treatments, but hers was the best,” says Jackson. “I was so proud when everyone picked it.”>

“It’s Just That Way” was written by Keith Stegall, Vicky McGehee and Kylie Sackley, but, says Jackson, “It’s such a beautiful melody, I wish I’d written it myself.”

Mattie Jackson is a sophomore at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She makes her debut as a journalist in the June issue of Paula Dean Cooking. “The video depicts a backwards reality, with metaphors of nature’s undeniable realities,” she wrote in her treatment. “And illustrates a love that is as pure and dependable as the sun rising in the sky.”

Mattie might as well have been talking about the 30 year marriage of her parents, and apparently her father feels the same way about “It’s Just That Way”. “It reminds me of Denise, and how we have been together forever. Sometimes we just look back and think of where we started and how it all happened and it’s just like it was supposed to be,” he said.

Superstar Alan Jackson’s l8th album FREIGHT TRAIN, was produced by longtime collaborator Keith Stegall and features 12 songs, 8 of which were written by Jackson. In a moving tribute to the legendary Vern Gosdin, who passed away last year and for whom Jackson has long expressed admiration, Jackson enlisted Lee Ann Womack to record “Till the End,” Gosdin’s 1977 classic duet with Janie Fricke.

PRODUCT PHOTOS:  http://www.dbaronmedia.com/alan-jackson-photos-media.html

The Alan Jackson Collection is the first time Cracker Barrel has developed a complete line of merchandise around a star.  Jackson was completely involved in the creation of the collection. He personally reviewed and approved all 40+ items and advised Cracker Barrel on what he thought might appeal to his fans. The collection is truly a reflection of his personal lifestyle centered on country heritage and family connections. The country music singer and songwriter is well-known for his songs that tell of universal truths by recounting honest, individual stories that resonate for many people as if they were their own tales. That same attention to detail is apparent in every item in this collection.

“I grew up in the South, so Cracker Barrel has been a part of my family since I was a young man,” says Alan Jackson.  “I was really flattered when they came to me with the idea of working together to create a collection for their country store, and I’ve been very impressed with the variety and quality of the items that we have put together. I think my fans and their families will appreciate everything in the collection.”

At the centerpiece of The Alan Jackson Collection is the exclusive Alan Jackson Signature Rocker, a piece of fine quality furniture. Reflecting the earth tones that Alan favors, this solid hardwood rocker is made of Dutch Spruce logs harvested in Maine and hand-assembled in Tennessee. The Danish Walnut finish offers warmth to a room’s décor. The Alan Jackson Signature Rocker has oversized posts for durability and is nailed and glued at the joints for extra strength. Alan’s authentic signature is engraved in the headrest. Each rocker is numbered as part of a limited edition of 1,700.

The Alan Jackson Collection also includes many functional, stylish items such as mugs, candles and decorative throws to warm the different rooms in a home and for all the people in the family. The collection includes jewelry, shirts, and hats that have been crafted out of materials favored by Alan such as suede, leather, and cotton. All items have been designed to meet Alan’s personal taste, and his requirement for high quality standards and good, old-fashioned comfort!

“Cracker Barrel has been focused for several years on providing our guests with great musical offerings that they can get only at our stores and this expansion into a complete, high quality, exclusive line of merchandise associated with Alan Jackson’s lifestyle is a great next step,” says Peter Keiser, Cracker Barrel’s Vice President of Marketing.  “The Alan Jackson Collection is a good way for Cracker Barrel to connect with our guests, and for our guests to connect with Alan.”

Since 2003, Cracker Barrel has featured a music program that offers exclusive CDs by some of country music’s most popular artists. Earlier this year, Cracker Barrel added to the CD offerings when it worked with Dolly Parton to offer a Dolly-pink version of its signature rocking chair and an exclusive photo album that became one of Cracker Barrel’s best-selling books ever. With the launch of The Alan Jackson Collection, Cracker Barrel takes music merchandising to a new level, one that will provide a great variety of quality products for guests to consider and enjoy.

Cracker Barrel’s impressive exclusive music program features numerous projects, including the September release of an exclusive new version of The Foundation by the Zac Brown Band, which contained three previously unreleased live tracks. That followed August’s George Jones release of A Collection Of My Best Recollection, May’s release of Montgomery Gentry’s For Our Heroes, which debuted at #5 on Billboard magazine’s Top Country Album Chart, and March’s release of Dolly Parton’s Collectors’ Edition of Backwoods Barbie, which debuted at #9 on that chart. The series also includes a number of exclusive releases in 2008 – November’s release of Bill Gaither’s Homecoming Hymns, the August release of Kenny Rogers: 50 Years, the July release of Ricky Skaggs’ The High Notes and the April release of Aaron Tippin’sHe Believed.  Over the last few years, Cracker Barrel has also released exclusive CDs featuring, among others, Alison Krauss & Union Station, Josh Turner, Amy Grant, Sara Evans, and Charlie Daniels.

Alan Jackson “I still like Bologna” video debuts this week

Itty Bitty AJs & Denises relive old times on new video.
The video for Alan Jackson’s “I Still Like Bologna” is a humorous look back on changing times and the country superstar’s continuing affection for a favorite sandwich. It debuts this week on CMT and GAC.PHOTOS: http://dbaronmedia.instyledm.com/alan-jackson-photos-media.htmlWhen you first see “I Still Like Bologna,” you might think there’s something wrong with your tv set since the nortoriously tall Jackson seems to have shrunk down to knee high. But the pint sized Jackson is really Jet Jurgensmeyer, who was brought in to portray the pee wee sized Jackson of yore, when times were simpler and there were no cell phones or video games. However, as Jackson points out in his hit single, the important things indure, like love, family and a good bologna sandwich on white bread.

The video was shot on the pond at Xanadu Ranch outside of Nashville, and was directed by Scott Scovill of Branded Picture Video Productions.
