Ludacris And Chrissy Teigen To Host The Billboard Music Awards 2015

Santa Monica, CA (March 30, 2015) – ABC and dick clark productions have announced that the “2015 Billboard Music Awards” is set to return to ABC and will be broadcast live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on SUNDAY, MAY 17 at 8pm ET. The show will showcase this year’s hottest musical acts and biggest music stars.  TV host and supermodel Chrissy Teigen will host with hip-hop superstar and actor Ludacris, who returns to host for the second consecutive year and whose eighth studio album, “Ludaversal,” will be released tomorrow. 

“If my extensive collection of all 53 ‘Now That’s What I Call Music’ compilations is any indication, I am both qualified and honored to join Ludacris in hosting this amazing show that spotlights the best music and artists of the year,” said Teigen.

“I had so much fun hosting the Billboard Music Awards last year and I can’t wait to be back!” said Ludacris.

The “2015 Billboard Music Awards” finalists will be announced on Tuesday, April 7.  Tune in to “Good Morning America” that morning when Ludacris and Pete Wentz reveal five of the forty “2015 Billboard Music Awards” finalist categories.

Scott Weiland, who Spin named “rock’s most dynamic front man,” and his band the Wildabouts recorded Blaster at Lavish studios in Burbank and at the Sandbox in Beachwood Canyon. The Daily Beast calls Blaster a solid spin, combining garage and classic rock with some heavier riffs in a way that just plain works,” and Billboard wrote “the songs from the album Blaster are no-nonsense, straight-ahead rock tunes that owe debts to music of the 1980s and ’90s inspired by late ’60s garage rock.”

Weiland and the band wrote all 11 tracks except “20th Century Boy,” a T-Rex classic. Rolling Stone called the first single, “Way She Moves,” a “foot-stompin’ boogie.” 

“The album has its own distinctive sound,” says Weiland, “but it also can entice those Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver fans who have stuck by me. Over the years, I’ve gone back and forth between art records and being in a band. This is a hybrid. What we’ve come up with is really heavy, slinky, and sexy. There’s a lot of fuzz. The best way to describe it is ‘Furry’.” I knew I wanted to make a rock record,” proclaims Weiland. “It all just came together.”

NEW YORK—March 16, 2015 –Superstar, performer, songwriter and multi-million selling recording artist GLORIA TREVI will appear on the red carpet at the Topfer Theatre at Zach during South By Southwest (SXSW) on Tuesday, March l7, for the US Premiere of Picturehouse’s Gloria, the riveting film based on her early career that will be released in theaters on June 5.

The acclaimed Trevi, who revolutionized music in the 90’s , will also sit for an onstage interview session with Leila Cobo, Executive Director, Latin Content and Programming at Billboard Magazine, earlier in the day at 5:00pm at the Austin Convention Center, in Ballroom F.    

Trevi and Pelo Suelto México, the Producers of the film, have resolved previously publicized differences and the Producers, who owned her life rights, have reverted rights back to Trevi.  

“We are pleased to have resolved our differences with the producers of the film,” says Guillermo Rosas, Trevi’s manager.  “Things got off to a rocky start, due to a conflict with a third party, which will remain in the hands of our legal team, but there are no more conflicts with the producers at Pelo Suelto.”

In Trevi’s words: “This was not easy considering ongoing intrigue from third parties which made me question the integrity of the film. But public comments encouraged me to listen and see, so thank you!!!  With differences now settled with the producers and myself, I can  give my support to this Mexican production which ultimately has a positive message:  One’s life can unravel, but you can start over and fill it with beautiful things and Glory!!”

La Superestrella Gloria Trevi y los productores de la película GLORIA concilian diferencias

GLORIA TREVI, la superestrella, cantante y compositora vendedora de millones de discos, estará presente en la alfombra roja durante el estreno estadounidense de la película Gloria (Picturehouse), una poderosa cinta basada en los primeros años de su carrera. El estreno se llevará a cabo mañana, 17 de marzo en el Topfer Theatre at Zach durante el festival South by Southwest (SXSW), la película estrena en teatros el 5 de junio.

La aclamada Trevi, quien revolucionó la industria de la música en los 90s, también participará en una entrevista única con Leila Cobo, Ejecutiva de Contenido Latino y Programación de Billboard la cual tomará lugar mañana a las 5pm en el Austin Convention Center, Ballroom F.

Trevi y Pelo Suelto México, productores de la película, han resuelto sus diferencias previamente publicadas, y los productores, quienes eran dueños de los derechos de su vida, le han entregado de nuevo los derechos a Trevi.

Since the release of his seventh studio album, From the Hut, to the Projects, to the Mansion seven years ago, Wyclef Jean has been in the studio consistently making music.

“Musicians never stop doing music. Whether if I’m active in a music space for the charts or I’m just doing music, we never stop doing music,” Wyclef Jean tells Billboard.

Jean has been in the studio recording his eighth studio album Clefication, which features DJ Khaled, Emeli Sande, Afrojack and Avicii.

One of the songs that came out of the “bunch of music” Avicii and Jean recorded for Clefication is the first single, “Divine Sorrow.”

“The genesis of what I do is based off songwriting,” Jean explains. “I’m a songwriter first I love to be there with the guitar and piano. Someone who has the same hobby as me is Avicii. We got into the studio and just started to work on a bunch of music. ‘Divine Sorrow’ was one of the records recorded. The tone of it, the attitude, the emotion is… it’s been a minute since you heard that [from] me.”

Avicii Debuts “Heaven” Feat. Chris Martin at Future Music Festival

As reported by Spin, global superstar DJ/producer Avicii debuted his new single, “Heaven” featuring Chris Martin of Coldplay, this past Sunday at Australia’s Future Music Festival. The song will appear on Avicii’s upcoming sophomore studio album, Stories, on PRMD/Island Records. Spin describes the song by saying “it sounds exactly how you’d expect a collaboration between these two to sound.”

Ricardo Arjona Kicks Off Viaje Tour With Two Sold Out Shows In Puerto Rico At The Jose Miguel Agrelot Coliseum

Ricardo Arjona kicked off the U.S. leg of his spectacularly successful VIAJE tour this weekend with two sold out shows at the Jose Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in Puerto Rico. The curtains rise on a bustling train station nearly 70 ft high, which transforms each time Arjona plays another song.   For nearly two hours, the acclaimed performer had the audience on its feet, performing nearly two dozen songs including favorites such as El Problema, Dime Que No, Cuando, Historia de Taxi, Señora de las Cuatro Decadas, Apnea, Minutos and closing song, Mujeres.

Ricardo Arjona – Lleno total durante dos noches en el Coliseo de Puerto Rico

Ricardo Arjona arrancó con enorme éxito su gira VIAJE. El inicio fue este fin de semana con dos conciertos totalmente vendidos en el Coliseo José Miguel Agrelot en Puerto Rico. Cuando el telón se levanta, aparece un impetuoso escenario de casi 70 pies de altura donde se recrea una animada  estación de tren que se transforma  cada vez que Arjona interpreta una nueva canción.   Por casi dos horas, Arjona tuvo a la audiencia a sus pies, después de las más de veinte canciones   que conforman su repertorio, entre las cuales figuran clásicos como El Problema, Dime Que No, Cuando, Historia del Taxi, Señora de las Cuatro Décadas, Apnea, Minutos el cantautor cerro la noche con uno de sus himnos, Mujeres.
