Los Angeles, CA (November 4, 2016) – dick clark productions and ABC announced today that international supermodel Gigi Hadid and actor/comedian Jay Pharoah will co-host the “2016 American Music Awards.”  These hosts join previously announced performers including James Bay, Fifth Harmony, Lady Gaga, Green Day, John Legend, Bruno Mars, Shawn Mendes, Twenty One Pilots, The Weeknd, special duets from The Chainsmokers and Halsey, and Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj, and “The American Music Award of Merit” honoree and performer Sting.  The “2016 American Music Awards,” the world’s biggest fan-voted award show, will broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, November 20 at 8:00pm ET on ABC.  

“I’m so excited to host the 2016 AMAs with Jay Pharoah,” said Hadid. “Jay is known for his spot-on impressions so I can’t wait to take the stage with him to show my goofy side and celebrate this year’s nominees!” 

“Can’t wait to host the AMAs with the beautiful Gigi Hadid (so much innocence in her eyes) and being in the building with some of my industry friends, who I’ve probably impersonated at some point I’m sure,” added Pharoah.  “It’s gonna be a fun night!’ 

At age two, Gigi Hadid was discovered by Paul Marciano of Guess and modelled in campaigns for Baby Guess and Guess Kids. At age 17, she signed a modeling contract with IMG and now at only 21, Hadid has graced the runways of Marc Jacobs, Giles, Sonia Rykiel, Jean Paul Gaultier, Jeremy Scott, Chanel, and walked in Victoria’s Secret 2015 Fashion Show. She has campaigns with Reebok, Maybelline, Tommy Hilfiger, Stuart Weitzman, BMW, Evian, Versace and has been the face of Tom Ford, Topshop and more. Gigi has appeared on the cover of fourteen Vogue magazines around the world, landed the covers of WSJ Magazine, W, AdWeek, and the fourth installment of Carine Roitfeld’s CR Fashion Book. Mentored by Carine Roitfeld, Gigi has sat for renowned photographers including Steven Meisel, Mario Testino, Mario Sorrenti, Craig McDean, Bruce Weber, Gilles Bensimon and more. 

Jay Pharoah is an American actor, stand-up comedian, impressionist, rapper, and voice actor. The six-season SNL alum is well known for his stellar impressions of President Barack Obama, Jay Z, Denzel Washington, Kanye West, and many others. Pharoah also made a splash with his memorable character, Principal Daniel Frye, based on Pharoah’s actual high school principal. 

In film, Pharoah most recently showcased a flashy role in the Lionsgate/CBS comedy GET A JOB, opposite Miles Teller and Anna Kendrick. This Christmas, Pharoah will voice roles in the Illumination/Universal animated movie SING alongside Matthew McConaughey, Scarlett Johansson and Reese Witherspoon, as well as independent animated comedy, THE ADVENTURES OF DRUNKY, alongside Sam Rockwell, Steve Coogan and Jeffrey Tamboor. Previously, Pharoah played fun supporting roles in Chris Rock’s film TOP FIVE for Paramount, Universal’s RIDE ALONG opposite Kevin Hart and Ice Cube, the independent film INTRAMURAL and FOX Searchlight’s LOLA VERSUS opposite Greta Gerwig. 

In TV, Pharoah voices roles in the new Comedy Central series LEGENDS OF CHAMBERLAIN HEIGHTS and just wrapped WHITE FAMOUS for Showtime/Lionsgate. In standup, JAY’s debut 1hr special premiered on Showtime produced by Broadway Video, and he headlines comedy clubs across the country throughout the year. 

The nominations for the “2016 American Music Awards” were announced last month, revealing that Drake leads with 13 nominations, while Rihanna received seven and Adele and Justin Bieber received five nominations each.  Beyoncé and The Chainsmokers each received four nominations.  Additionally, Bryson Tiller, Twenty One Pilots, Carrie Underwood, Fetty Wap and The Weeknd earned three nominations each. 

The Artist of the Year nominees are Adele, Beyoncé, Justin Bieber, Drake, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, Rihanna, Twenty One Pilots, Carrie Underwood and The Weeknd.  The ten nominees will be narrowed to five based on the votes received through Monday, November 14 at 8:59:59am PT.  Voting for Artist of the Year will close on Thursday, November 17 at 8:59:59pm PT. The winner will be determined by the total votes received throughout the entire voting period.  

New Artist of the Year Un-leashed by T-Mobile nominees are Alessia Cara, The Chainsmokers, DNCE, Shawn Mendes and Zayn.  Voting for this category opened November 2^nd. 

At the American Music Awards, artists will be honored in multiple musical genres. Pop/Rock, Alternative Rock, Country, Rap/Hip-Hop, Soul/R&B, Adult Contemporary, Contemporary Inspirational, Latin, EDM and Soundtrack, are some of the genres alongside the awards for Artist of the Year, New Artist of the Year Un-leashed by T-Mobile and Collaboration of the Year.  This year, new categories include Tour of the Year and Video of the Year, while Favorite Song categories in the genres of Pop/Rock, Country, Rap/Hip-Hop and Soul/R&B have been added in lieu of the Song of the Year category.  

American Music Awards nominees are based on key fan interactions as reflected in Billboard Magazine and on Billboard.com, including album and digital song sales, radio airplay, streaming, social activity and touring. These measurements are tracked by Billboard and its data partners, including Nielsen Music and Next Big Sound. 

The American Music Awards winners are voted entirely by fans. Voting is now open in all categories. 

Fans can vote for all categories once per day, per platform in one or both of the below ways. For New Artist of the Year Un-leashed by T-Mobile, fans can vote 100 times per day, per platform.

Los Angeles, CA (November 3, 2016) – dick clark productions and ABC announced today that eight-time American Music Award nominee The Weeknd will perform at the “2016 American Music Awards.”The news broke via the Facebook page for the American Music Awards, with a superfan getting a tattoo of The Weeknd’s iconic XO logo in an exclusive Facebook Live video. 

The Weeknd joins previously announced performers James Bay, Fifth Harmony, Lady Gaga, Green Day, John Legend, Bruno Mars, Shawn Mendes, Twenty One Pilots,special duets from The Chainsmokers and Halsey, and Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj, and “The American Music Award of Merit” honoree and performer Sting. The “2016 American Music Awards,” the world’s biggest fan-voted award show, will broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, November 20 at 8:00pm ET on ABC. 

The “2016 American Music Awards” marks The Weeknd’s third AMA performance. He first took the stage in 2014 to perform “Love Me Harder” with Ariana Grande, and then in 2015 to perform his hit single “The Hills.” He is a two-time AMA winner and eight-time nominee, including his three nominations at this year’s show: Favorite Male Artist – Pop/Rock, Favorite Male Artist – Soul/R&B and Artist of the Year.

Pop/Rock, Alternative Rock, Country, Rap/Hip-Hop, Soul/R&B, Adult Contemporary, Contemporary Inspirational, Latin, EDM and Soundtrack, are some of the genres alongside the awards forArtist of the Year, New Artist of the Year Un-leashed by T-Mobile and Collaboration of the Year.  This year, new categories include Tour of the Year and Video of the Year, while Favorite Song categories in the genres of Pop/Rock, Country, Rap/Hip-Hop and Soul/R&B have been added in lieu of the Song of the Year category.   

American Music Awards nominees are based on key fan interactions as reflected in Billboard Magazine and on Billboard.com, including album and digital song sales, radio airplay, streaming, social activity and touring. These measurements are tracked by Billboard and its data partners, including Nielsen Music and Next Big Sound. 

The American Music Awards winners are voted entirely by fans. Voting is now open in all categories.

Fans can vote for all categories once per day, per platform in one or both of the below ways. For New Artist of the Year Un-leashed by T-Mobile, fans can vote 100 times per day, per platform.

Los Angeles, CA (November 3, 2016) – dick clark productions and ABC announced today an exciting new group of performers at the “2016 American Music Awards.”  Both John Legend and Shawn Mendes will take solo turns on stage, while Ariana Grande will be joined by Nicki Minaj to perform their hit song “Side To Side.”  They join previously announced performers James Bay, Fifth Harmony, Lady Gaga, Green Day, Bruno Mars, Twenty One Pilots, a duet from The Chainsmokers and Halsey, and “The American Music Award of Merit” honoree and performer Sting. The “2016 American Music Awards,” the world’s biggest fan-voted award show, will broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, November 20 at 8:00pm ET on ABC.  

This year will be Ariana Grande’s fourth year performing on the American Music Awards. She first took the stage in 2013 to perform “They Way” and “Tattooed Heart,” and again in 2014 to perform “Bang, Bang” with Jessie J and Nicki Minaj and “Love Me Harder” with The Weeknd.  Grande returned to the stage in 2015 to perform her hit single “Focus.” She is a three-time AMA nominee, including a nomination at this year’s show for the top honor, Artist of the Year. 

John Legend is a six-time AMA nominee, taking home the award for Favorite Male Artist – Soul/R&B in 2014.  This year will be Legend’s first performance at the American Music Awards. 

This year will mark Shawn Mendes’ debut performance on the AMA stage. He is also a first-time nominee, competing for the New Artist of the Year Un-leashed by T-Mobile award. 

Nicki Minaj is a six-time American Music Award winner and eight-time nominee. 2016 will mark Minaj’s fourth return to the AMA stage. In 2011 she performed a medley of “Sweat,” “Turn Me On” and “Super Bass” with David Guetta. In 2012 she took the stage solo to perform “Freedom” and returned to the stage in 2014 to perform “Bed of Lies” solo, and joined Ariana Grande and Jessie J to perform “Bang, Bang.” 

Within less than a year, Ariana Grande captured #1 on the Billboard 200 twice—first with her Republic Records debut Yours Truly and also with its 2014 follow-up My Everything. 

Yours Truly yielded the game-changing pop smash “The Way” featuring Mac Miller, which went triple-platinum, landed in the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100, and seized #1 on the iTunes Overall Top Songs chart. Meanwhile, the platinum-selling My Everything garnered a Grammy Award nomination for “Best Pop Vocal Album” and spawned the six times-platinum hit “Problem.” Upon the single’s release, Ariana became “the youngest woman to debut with over 400K sold first-week,” while the song ranked as the fourth “highest digital song debut for a female artist” and eighth highest ever. Moreover, it debuted at #1 in 85 countries, topping the iTunes Overall Top Songs and Pop Songs charts for four weeks. During release week, My Everything was #1 on Spotify as Ariana personally rose to #1 on Billboard‘s Artist 100 chart. She also became the first woman in history and the first artist since Michael Jackson to simultaneously have three songs—”Problem,” “Break Free” featuring Zedd, and “Bang Bang” with Nicki Minaj and Jessie J—in the Top 6 of the Digital Songs Chart. “Bang Bang” went platinum and was Grammy-nominated for “Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.” By the end of the year, she landed four songs in the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100, the most of any artist in 2014. Ariana has enjoyed a total of eight Hot 100 Top 10 smashes.  In 2013, she was named “Best New Artist” at the American Music Awards. Other accolades followed with Ariana winning “Favorite Breakout Artist” at the People’s Choice Awards 2014, the “Young Influencer Award” at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, the “Radio Disney Chart Topper Award,” “Choice Female Artist” and “Choice Single” “Problem” at the 2014 Teen Choice Awards, and more. At the 2014 MTV VMAS, “Problem” was named “Best Pop Video” as well. In November, Ariana took home the award for “Favorite Female Artist – Pop/Rock” at the “2015 American Music Awards.” 

2016 sees Ariana release her platinum-selling third full length album, Dangerous Woman, driven by the title track which captured #1 on both iTunes Overall Top Songs Chart and Top Pop Songs Chart minutes after release.  “Dangerous Woman” also debuted in the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 earning her the distinction of becoming the first artist to debut on the chart with the lead single from her first three albums. Her current single, “Side to Side,” featuring Nicki Minaj, recently became Grande’s eighth top 10 hit on the Hot 100.

Ohio-born John Legend is a critically acclaimed, multi-award winning, platinum-selling singer-songwriter.  His work has garnered him ten Grammy Awards, an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, the BET Award for Best New Artist and the special Starlight Award from the Songwriters Hall of Fame, among others.  A graduate of University of Pennsylvania where he studied English and African-American literature, Legend participated in a wide range of musical activities while in college. During the same period, Legend was introduced to Lauryn Hill, who hired him to play piano on her track “Everything Is Everything,” and shortly thereafter he began to play shows around the Philadelphia area, eventually expanding his audience base to New York, Boston, Atlanta and Washington D.C. After college, Legend was introduced to then up-and-coming hip-hop artist Kanye West, who quickly signed Legend to his G.O.O.D. Music imprint and hired him to sing vocal hooks on some of his music. Legend started gaining momentum through a series of similar collaborations with established artists, adding vocals to an impressive list of chart-topping hits including West’s “All of the Lights,” Jay-Z’s “Encore” and back-up vocals on Alicia Keys’ 2003 song, “You Don’t Know My Name.” Legend’s debut album, Get Lifted, was released in December of 2004 through Columbia Records. The follow up was 2006’s platinum-selling Once Again, which brought Legend another Grammy, Best Male R&B Performance, for his single “Heaven,” and included collaborations with Kanye West, will.i.am and Raphael Saadiq. Legend’s next release was 2008’s Evolver, led by the hit single “Green Light” featuring Andre 3000. His 2010 collaboration with the Roots, Wake Up, won the Grammy for Best R&B Album a year later. Legend’s highly acclaimed fourth and most current studio album Love In the Future, features  “All of Me,” Legend’s highest selling and charting song to date, reaching #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and #1 on both Mainstream Top 40 and Rhythmic charts. Legend won his first Academy Award, first Golden Globe Award, a Grammy award, and a Critic’s Choice Award for his song “Glory,” that he wrote and performed with Common, for the film SELMA. 

Throughout his career, Legend has worked to make a difference in the lives of others. In 2007, he launched the Show Me Campaign (ShowMeCampaign.org), an initiative that focuses on education as a key to break the cycle of poverty. The 2010 BET Humanitarian of the Year award, the 2009 CARE Humanitarian Award for Global Change, the 2009 Bishop John T. Walker Distinguished Humanitarian Service Award from Africare and the 2011 Harvard Foundation Artist of the Year Award recognize Legend’s efforts and leadership in this arena. John sits on the boards of The Education Equality Project, Teach for America, Stand for Children and the Harlem Village Academies and co-chairs the Harlem Village Academies’ National Leadership Board. Additionally, Legend supports LRNG, a movement dedicated to inspiring innovation in the learning process to one that better reflects the world we live in today. In 2015 Legend initiated the #freeAmerica campaign; a campaign designed to change the national conversation of our country’s misguided policies and to make a change in America’s criminal justice system. 

Legend also serves as one of the principles for Get Lifted Film Co., a film and television production company based in Los Angeles. Get Lifted Film Co. has sold several projects in television to networks including Showtime, NBC, HBO, USA, MTV, OWN and FOX. Singer/songwriter Shawn Mendes has recently scored his second #1 debut on the Billboard 200 with the September 23rd release of his sophomore album Illuminate, which hit #1 on iTunes in over 65 countries. The album was recorded with Grammy-nominated producer Jake Gosling (Ed Sheeran’s “+” and “x” albums), and its lead single “Treat You Better” debuted at #1 immediately upon release via iTunes in 26 countries and has soared to Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. Shawn’s debut album Handwritten has been certified platinum and features 4x platinum single “Stitches.” Shawn recently completed a sold-out headlining world tour in support of Handwritten, including shows at LA’s Greek Theatre and NYC’s Radio City Music Hall, as well as his hometown Air Canada Centre.  He previewed his new album before release at a one-time-only headlining Illuminate Live Concert & Album Event at Madison Square Garden in September, and he will embark on his first-ever headlining arena tour with the Illuminate World Tour in 2017. Shawn has been named one of Time Magazine’s “Most Influential Teens” of 2014 and 2015, as well as one of Forbes’ “30 Under 30” in 2016, and he won “Favorite New Artist” at the 2016 People’s Choice Awards. 

Grammy Award-nominated superstar Nicki Minaj continues to break records and impact pop culture at large. Her two-time platinum selling and critically lauded third full-length album, The Pinkprint, arrived at the top of both the Billboard 200 and the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts, cementing her as rap’s reigning queen.   Minaj recently made history when she occupied the four top 10 spots on the Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop airplay chart, becoming the first female artist to achieve the feat. Minaj also has the most hits on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart of any female rapper in history and is number three among all female artists on the chart behind only Aretha Franklin and Taylor Swift. What’s more, 12 of her entries entered the top 10, yielding yet another record for a female rapper. Minaj stands at the top of the pop vanguard.  To date, the global superstar has sold over 55 million singles and 5 million albums worldwide.  Minaj has also been the recipient of a bevy of awards including American Music Awards, MTV VMA’s, Billboard Awards, People’s Choice Awards, BET Awards, and many others. The nominations for the “2016 American Music Awards” were announced last month, revealing that Drake leads with 13 nominations, while Rihanna received seven and Adele and Justin Bieber received five nominations each.  Beyoncé and The Chainsmokers each received four nominations.  Additionally, Bryson Tiller, Twenty One Pilots, Carrie Underwood, Fetty Wap and The Weeknd earned three nominations each. 

The Artist of the Year nominees are Adele, Beyoncé, Justin Bieber, Drake, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, Rihanna, Twenty One Pilots, Carrie Underwood and The Weeknd.  The ten nominees will be narrowed to five based on the votes received through Monday, November 14 at 8:59:59am PT.  Voting for Artist of the Year will close on Thursday, November 17 at 8:59:59pm PT. The winner will be determined by the total votes received throughout the entire voting period. 

New Artist of the Year Un-leashed by T-Mobile nominees are Alessia Cara, The Chainsmokers, DNCE, Shawn Mendes and Zayn.  Voting for this category opened November 2^nd. 

At the American Music Awards, artists will be honored in multiple musical genres. Pop/Rock, Alternative Rock, Country, Rap/Hip-Hop, Soul/R&B, Adult Contemporary, Contemporary Inspirational, Latin, EDM and Soundtrack, are some of the genres alongside the awards for Artist of the Year, New Artist of the Year Un-leashed by T-Mobile and Collaboration of the Year.  This year, new categories include Tour of the Year and Video of the Year, while Favorite Song categories in the genres of Pop/Rock, Country, Rap/Hip-Hop and Soul/R&B have been added in lieu of the Song of the Year category.   

American Music Awards nominees are based on key fan interactions as reflected in Billboard Magazine and on Billboard.com, including album and digital song sales, radio airplay, streaming, social activity and touring. These measurements are tracked by Billboard and its data partners, including Nielsen Music and Next Big Sound. 

The American Music Awards winners are voted entirely by fans. Voting is now open in all categories.

Los Angeles, CA (3 de noviembre de 2016) – dick clark productions y ABC anunciaron hoy un nuevo grupo de artistas que se presentarán en los “2016 American Music Awards.” Ambos, John Legend y Shawn Mendes tomarán el escenario como solistas, mientras que Ariana Grande junto a Nicki Minaj presentarán la canción “Side To Side”. Se une a los artistas previamente anunciados James Bay, Fifth Harmony, Lady Gaga, Green Day, Bruno Mars, Twenty One Pilots, el dueto de The Chainsmokers con Halsey y Sting, quien se presentará y será homenajeado con el premio “The American Music Award of Merit”. “Yours Truly” dio lugar al innovador éxito del pop “The Way” con Mac Miller, que obtuvo un triple-platino, y termino en los Top 10 de la lista Billboard Hot 100 y se apoderó del primer lugar en la lista de iTunes Overall Top Songs. Los Angeles, CA (November 2, 2016) – dick clark productions and ABC, in partnership with T-Mobile, announced today that voting is now open for the New Artist of the Year Un-leashed by T-Mobile award at the “2016 American Music Awards.”  The American Music Awards winners are voted entirely by fans. Fans can vote for New Artist of the Year Un-leashed by T-Mobile, 100 times per day, on both AMAvote.com and on Twitter. To vote on Twitter, fans simply post a tweet that includes the nominee’s Twitter handle, the category name and #AMAs within the post(s). For all other American Music Awards categories, fans can vote once a day, via one or bothof the methods mentioned above.

Previously announced performers at the “2016 American Music Awards” include James Bay, Fifth Harmony, Lady Gaga, Green Day, Bruno Mars, duets from The Chainsmokers and Halsey, Carlos Vives with Shakira and “The American Music Award of Merit” recipient and performer Sting.  More performers and presenters will be announced soon. 

The nominations for the “2016 American Music Awards” were announced earlier this month, revealing that Drake leads with 13 nominations, while Rihanna received seven and Adele and Justin Bieber received five nominations each.  Beyoncé and The Chainsmokers each received four nominations.  Additionally, Bryson Tiller, Twenty One Pilots, Carrie Underwood, Fetty Wap and The Weeknd earned three nominations each. 

At the American Music Awards, artists will be honored in multiple musical genres. Pop/Rock, Alternative Rock, Country, Rap/Hip-Hop, Soul/R&B, Adult Contemporary, Contemporary Inspirational, Latin, EDM and Soundtrack, are some of the genres alongside the awards forArtist of the Year, New Artist of the Year Un-leashed by T-Mobile and Collaboration of the Year.  This year, new categories include Tour of the Year and Video of the Year, while Favorite Song categories in the genres of Pop/Rock, Country, Rap/Hip-Hop and Soul/R&B have been added in lieu of the Song of the Year category.   

American Music Awards nominees are based on key fan interactions as reflected in Billboard Magazine and on Billboard.com, including album and digital song sales, radio airplay, streaming, social activity and touring. These measurements are tracked by Billboard and its data partners, including Nielsen Music and Next Big Sound. 

Preceding the ABC broadcast for the 8th consecutive year will be the “Coca-Cola® Red Carpet LIVE! @ The 2016 AMAs” pre-show. This live show will stream online for fans worldwide on November 20^th.

Los Angeles, CA (October 27, 2016) – dick clark productions and ABCannounced today several exciting additions to the lineup at the “2016 American Music Awards.”  Lighting up the AMA stage will be James Bay and Fifth Harmony, as well as special duets from The Chainsmokers and Halsey, and Carlos Viveswith Shakira.  They join previously announcedperformersLady Gaga, Green Day, Bruno Mars, Twenty One Pilots, and “The American Music Award of Merit” honoree and performer Sting. The “2016 American Music Awards,”the world’s biggest fan-voted award show, will broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, November 20 at 8:00pm ET on ABC. 

James Bay, Fifth Harmony, Halsey, The Chainsmokers and Carlos Vives will all make their American Music Awards performance debut at this year’s show. Fifth Harmony, The Chainsmokers and Twenty One Pilots are all first time AMA nominees. Fifth Harmony, who are performing their new smash single “That’s My Girl,” are nominated for Collaboration of the Year, and The Chainsmokers for New Artist of the Year Un-leashed by T-Mobile, Collaboration of the Year, Favorite Duo or Group – Pop/Rock and Favorite Artist – Electronic Dance Music.

With his wide-brimmed hat, leather jacket, and guitar in hand, it’s easy to pick James Bay out of crowd. However, the UK singer-songwriter’s voice remains equally distinct. Her new single is the emotive ‘Colors’, with MTV Teen Wolf’s Tyler Posey starring in the clip with Halsey. The release of Fifth Harmony’s sophomore album 7/27,on Syco Music/Epic Records, is the latest in a series of record-breaking accomplishments for the group.  “Work from Home,” the album’s 3x-platinum certified first single, earned Fifth Harmony their first top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100, notching the top spot on both the Billboard Rhythmic and Pop Songs charts. Their second single “All In My Head (Flex)” is certified gold, while their current single “That’s My Girl” is climbing the charts. Her tenth studio album “Shakira” was released in 2014, featuring hits such as “Can’t Remember to Forget You,” with Rihanna and “La LaLa (Brazil 2014)” which she performed at the finals of Fifa’s World Cup 2014 in Brazil. In Shakira and Carlos Vives launched “La Bicicleta,” which broke records in Colombia when it remained #1 for 18 consecutive weeks and spent 13 weeks at #1 in Spain, as well as reaching #1 on US Latin iTunes. The video, shot in Shakira and Carlos’s hometowns of Barranquilla and Santa Marta, respectively, has over 350 million views on Vevo to date.

The nominations for the “2016 American Music Awards” were announced earlier this month, revealing that Drake leads with 13 nominations, while Rihanna received seven and Adele and Justin Bieber received five nominations each.  Beyoncé and The Chainsmokers each received four nominations.  Additionally, Bryson Tiller, Twenty One Pilots, Carrie Underwood, Fetty Wap and The Weeknd earned three nominations each.

The Artist of the Year nominees are Adele, Beyoncé, Justin Bieber, Drake, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, Rihanna, Twenty One Pilots, Carrie Underwood and The Weeknd.  The ten nominees will be narrowed to five based on the votes received through Monday, November 14 at 8:59:59am PT.  Voting for Artist of the Year will close on Thursday, November 17 at 8:59:59pm PT. The winner will be determined by the total votes received throughout the entire voting period. 

New Artist of the Year Un-leashed by T-Mobile nominees are Alessia Cara, The Chainsmokers, DNCE, Shawn Mendes and Zayn.  Voting for this category opens November 2^nd.

At the American Music Awards, artists will be honored in multiple musical genres. Pop/Rock, Alternative Rock, Country, Rap/Hip-Hop, Soul/R&B, Adult Contemporary, Contemporary Inspirational, Latin, EDM and Soundtrack, are some of the genres alongside the awards forArtist of the Year, New Artist of the Year Un-leashed by T-Mobile and Collaboration of the Year.  This year, new categories include Tour of the Year and Video of the Year, while Favorite Song categories in the genres of Pop/Rock, Country, Rap/Hip-Hop and Soul/R&B have been added in lieu of the Song of the Year category.  

American Music Awards nominees are based on key fan interactions as reflected in Billboard Magazine and on Billboard.com, including album and digital song sales, radio airplay, streaming, social activity and touring. These measurements are tracked by Billboard and its data partners, including Nielsen Music and Next Big Sound.

Los Angeles, CA (27 de octubre de 2016) – dick clark productions y ABC anunciaron hoy varios artistas que se sumarán al line-up de los “2016 American Music Awards.” Iluminando el escenario de los AMA estarán James Bay y Fifth Harmony, al igual que duetos especiales de The Chainsmokers con Halsey y Carlos Vives junto a Shakira. Se unen a los artistas previamente anunciados Lady Gaga, Green Day, Bruno Mars y Sting, quien se presentará y será homenajeado con el premio “The American Music Award of Merit”. Los “2016 American Music Awards”, la entrega de premios votados por los fans más grande del mundo, se transmitirá en vivo desde el Microsoft Theater en Los Angeles el domingo 20 de noviembre a las 8:00pm ET en ABC. 

James Bay, Fifth Harmony, Halsey, The Chainsmokers y Carlos Vives debutarán en el escenario de los “American Music Awards” en el show de este año. Los Angeles, CA (October 26, 2016) – dick clark productions and ABC announced today that recent Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Green Day and multi-platinum alternative duo Twenty One Pilots will perform at the “2016 American Music Awards.”  They join previously announced performers Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars and “The American Music Award of Merit” honoree and performer Sting.  The “2016 American Music Awards,” the world’s biggest fan-voted award show, will broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, November 20 at 8:00pm ET on ABC. 

Green Day, who just released their 12^th studio and third No. 1 album Revolution Radio, are three-time American Music Award winners and 10-time American Music Award nominees.  The group first took the AMA stage in 2009 to perform their critically-acclaimed song “21 Guns,” and will return for their second performance at this year’s show. 

Twenty One Pilots will make their American Music Awards performance debut at this year’s show.  They are also first-time AMA nominees in the categories Favorite Duo or Group – Pop/Rock, Favorite Artist – Alternative Rock and Artist of the Year. 

Green Day is an American punk rock band composed of vocalist/guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong, bassist Mike Dirnt and drummer Tré Cool. Formed in 1986, Green Day was originally part of the punk scene at the DIY 924 Gilman Street club in Berkeley, California. The band’s early releases were with the independent record label Lookout! Records. In 1994, its major label debut Dookie (released through Reprise Records) became a breakout success and eventually sold over 10 million copies in the United States. Green Day was widely credited with popularizing and reviving mainstream interest in punk rock in the United States.  Green Day’s follow up albums Insomniac (1995) and Nimrod (1997) each sold over two million albums and were certified Double Platinum, and Warning (2000) was certified Platinum.  2004 brought the band’s rock opera American Idiot which reignited the band’s popularity with a younger generation and sold over six million copies in the United States.  Green Day is one of the world’s best-selling bands of all time, having sold more than 75 million records worldwide. The group has won five Grammy Awards: Best Alternative Album for Dookie, Best Rock Album for American Idiot, Record of the Year for “Boulevard of Broken Dreams”, Best Rock Album for the second time for 21st Century Breakdown and Best Musical Show Album for American Idiot: The Original Broadway Cast Recording. In 2010, a stage adaptation of American Idiot debuted on Broadway.  On April 18, 2015, the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a part of the 2015 class in what was their first year of eligibility for induction. On October 16, 2015, Green Day released the documentary Heart Like A Hand Grenade, an unprecedented behind the scenes look at the writing and recording of their legendary album American Idiot.

The nominations for the “2016 American Music Awards” were announced earlier this month, revealing that Drake leads with 13 nominations, while Rihanna received seven and Adele and Justin Bieber received five nominations each.  Beyoncé and The Chainsmokers each received four nominations.  Additionally, Bryson Tiller, Twenty One Pilots, Carrie Underwood, Fetty Wap and The Weeknd earned three nominations each. 

The Artist of the Year nominees are Adele, Beyoncé, Justin Bieber, Drake, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, Rihanna, Twenty One Pilots, Carrie Underwood and The Weeknd.  The ten nominees will be narrowed to five based on the votes received through Monday, November 14 at 8:59:59am PT.  Voting for Artist of the Year will close on Thursday, November 17 at 8:59:59pm PT. The winner will be determined by the total votes received throughout the entire voting period. 

New Artist of the Year Un-leashed by T-Mobile nominees are Alessia Cara, The Chainsmokers, DNCE, Shawn Mendes and Zayn.  Voting for this category opens November 2^nd. 

At the American Music Awards, artists will be honored in multiple musical genres. Pop/Rock, Alternative Rock, Country, Rap/Hip-Hop, Soul/R&B, Adult Contemporary, Contemporary Inspirational, Latin, EDM and Soundtrack, are some of the genres alongside the awards for Artist of the Year, New Artist of the Year Un-leashed by T-Mobile and Collaboration of the Year.  This year, new categories include Tour of the Year and Video of the Year, while Favorite Song categories in the genres of Pop/Rock, Country, Rap/Hip-Hop and Soul/R&B have been added in lieu of the Song of the Year category.  

American Music Awards nominees are based on key fan interactions as reflected in Billboard Magazine and on Billboard.com, including album and digital song sales, radio airplay, streaming, social activity and touring. These measurements are tracked by Billboard and its data partners, including Nielsen Music and Next Big Sound. 

The American Music Awards winners are voted entirely by fans. Voting is now open in all categories except New Artist of the Year Un-leashed by T-Mobile, which will open November 2^nd.

Fans can vote for all categories once per day, per platform in one or both of the below ways. For New Artist of the Year Un-leashed by T-Mobile, fans can vote 100 times per day, per platform.

Los Angeles, CA (October 25, 2016) – dick clark productions and ABC announced today that award-winning singer, songwriter, actress and activist Lady Gaga will perform at the “2016 American Music Awards.”  She joins previously announced show opener Bruno Mars and “The American Music Award of Merit” honoree and performer Sting.  The “2016 American Music Awards,” the world’s biggest fan-voted award show, will broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, November 20 at 8:00pm ET on ABC.  

Lady Gaga is a nine-time American Music Award nominee and took home the win in 2010 for Favorite Female Artist – Pop/Rock.  Gaga first performed on the AMA stage in 2009 with a medley of “Bad Romance” and “Speechless,” followed by a performance with R. Kelly in 2013 singing “Do What U Want.” 

Grammy and Golden Globe-winner and Academy Award-nominated Lady Gaga is a one-of-a kind artist and performer. She has amassed an outstanding 30 million global album sales and 150 million single sales, making her one of the best-selling musicians of all time. Gaga is also one of the biggest living forces in social media with over 61 million likes on Facebook, over 62.9 million followers on Twitter and over 18.5 million followers on Instagram. Her fifth studio album “Joanne” was just released and includes hit new singles “Perfect Illusion” and “A-YO.” Upon its release, “Perfect Illusion” debuted at #1 on iTunes in 60 countries. Further, Gaga has earned 13 top 10 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart (including three No. 1s) and three No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 chart.  

In 2012, Lady Gaga launched the Born This Way Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering youth, embracing differences and inspiring kindness and bravery. She is also an outspoken activist, philanthropist and supporter of many important issues including LGBT rights, HIV/AIDS awareness and body image issues.

The nominations for the “2016 American Music Awards” were announced earlier this month, revealing that Drake leads with 13 nominations, while Rihanna received seven and Adele and Justin Bieber received five nominations each.  Beyoncé and The Chainsmokers each received four nominations.  Additionally, Bryson Tiller, Twenty One Pilots, Carrie Underwood, Fetty Wap and The Weeknd earned three nominations each.

The Artist of the Year nominees are Adele, Beyoncé, Justin Bieber, Drake, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, Rihanna, Twenty One Pilots, Carrie Underwood and The Weeknd.  The ten nominees will be narrowed to five based on the votes received through Monday, November 14 at 8:59:59am PT.  Voting for Artist of the Year will close on Thursday, November 17 at 8:59:59pm PT. The winner will be determined by the total votes received throughout the entire voting period.  

New Artist of the Year Un-leashed by T-Mobile nominees are Alessia Cara, The Chainsmokers, DNCE, Shawn Mendes and Zayn.  Voting for this category opens November 2^nd.

At the American Music Awards, artists will be honored in multiple musical genres. Pop/Rock, Alternative Rock, Country, Rap/Hip-Hop, Soul/R&B, Adult Contemporary, Contemporary Inspirational, Latin, EDM and Soundtrack, are some of the genres alongside the awards for Artist of the Year, New Artist of the Year Un-leashed by T-Mobile and Collaboration of the Year.  This year, new categories include Tour of the Year and Video of the Year, while Favorite Song categories in the genres of Pop/Rock, Country, Rap/Hip-Hop and Soul/R&B have been added in lieu of the Song of the Year category.   

American Music Awards nominees are based on key fan interactions as reflected in Billboard Magazine and on Billboard.com, including album and digital song sales, radio airplay, streaming, social activity and touring. These measurements are tracked by Billboard and its data partners, including Nielsen Music and Next Big Sound. 

The American Music Awards winners are voted entirely by fans. Voting is now open in all categories except New Artist of the Year Un-leashed by T-Mobile, which will open November 2^nd. 

Fans can vote for all categories once per day, per platform in one or both of the below ways. For New Artist of the Year Un-leashed by T-Mobile, fans can vote 100 times per day, per platform.

Preceding the ABC broadcast for the 8th consecutive year will be the “Coca-Cola® Red Carpet LIVE! @ The 2016 AMAs” pre-show. This live show will stream online for fans worldwide on November 20^th.
