Sony Music and the Estate of Michael Jackson announced today that MICHAEL JACKSONTHRILLER 40,a double CD set comprised of Michael’s original masterpiece and an exciting bonus CD of rarities and demos,  is available for Pre-Order starting today HERE. The titles of the ten bonus tracks will be revealed one at a time, starting after Labor Day with the last track being revealed just before release date, November 18.  Additionally, 15 additional tracks which have been in limited release previously will be available as part of an expanded digital release.   

Epic Records and Legacy Recordings, the catalog division of Sony Music Entertainment, today will release the second wave of expanded digital editions of essential titles in The Jacksons catalog: Triumph (1980), Victory(1984), and 2300 Jackson Street (1989).  In addition to The Jacksons X MLK remix released on March 19, the Triumph re-release includes two additional new remixes of The Jacksons’ “Can You Feel It”:  The Kirk Franklin Remix and The Island Remix featuring David Sanborn.

The Los Angeles Superior Court this morning ruled against Wade Robson in CASE NO. BC508502 in claims against corporations owned by Michael Jackson and/or the Estate of Michael Jackson and dismissed his case again. The Michael Jackson Estate is represented by the late Howard Weitzman and Jonathan Steinsapir of Kinsella Weitzman Iser Kump LLP.  Statement from Mr. Steinsapir:

Director Spike Lee yesterday revealed a new version of Michael Jackson’s “They Don’t Care About Us” short film during his annual Brooklyn Loves Michael Jackson block party celebrating the King of Pop’s birthday, which this year took place virtually.  

The Michael Jackson Estate announced today that THE MICHAEL JACKSON CHANNEL will launch at 12 pm ET on SiriusXM today, July 15.The channel will be available on the SiriusXM app, internet connected devices and smart speakers in your home.  Additionally, channel 50 will become The Michael Jackson Channel from July 15 at 12:00 pm ET through July 21. 

The Michael Jackson Estate is donating $300,000 to coronavirus response efforts to help three communities that have been severely impacted by the Covid-19 virus. Broadway Cares, Three Square Food Bank (Southern Nevada’s largest hunger-relief organization) and MusiCares will each receive a $100,000 donation. 

BMI (Broadcast Music Inc.) and The Estate of Michael Jackson announced today that they have inked a renewal agreement for BMI to continue to represent the performing rights in Michael Jackson’s songwriting catalog. This new deal continues an uninterrupted 41-year long relationship between the King of Pop and the performance rights organization which began in 1979 when Michael Jackson first signed with BMI. The Estate and BMI last renewed the deal in 2014.

The Estate of Michael Jackson/MIJAC Music has reached agreement with Sylvester Stewart to acquire a majority ownership of the U.S. rights to the Sly and the Family Stone catalog and, as part of the arrangement, will retain long-term administration rights. The catalog includes classic songs like Family Affair, Dance to the Music, Everybody is a Star, Hot Fun in the Summertime and Everyday People, the first of their six #1 pop and R&B hits.  The Estate continues to own 100% of the copyright for the catalog outside the U.S.

Today, the Estate of Michael Jackson filed a federal lawsuit in Los Angeles against The Walt Disney Company and ABC for their willful and intentional infringements of dozens of copyrights owned by the Estate that were used, without permission, in the ABC prime time special “The Last Days of Michael Jackson” broadcast last week.

We want consumers to know that The Last Days of Michael Jackson,  a television special airing on ABC TV (a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company) tomorrow May 24, is not sponsored or approved by the Estate of Michael Jackson.   It is particularly disheartening that Disney, a company known to strongly believe in protecting its own IP rights, would choose to ignore these rights belonging to the Estate.  

Michael Jackson’s Thriller 3D, long rumored and highly anticipated by fans, will make its world premiere at the 74th Venice Film Festival 2017, announced the Estate of Michael Jackson today.

MICHAEL JACKSON’S HALLOWEEN, a new one-hour animated adventure with Michael Jackson’s acclaimed music as its soundtrack, will be broadcast for the first time this fall on the CBS Television Network. Created and produced by Optimum Productions, the Michael Jackson company now owned by his estate, the special will feature the voices of actors Christine Baranski, Kiersey Clemons, Alan Cumming, George Eads, Brad Garrett, Lucy Liu, Jim Parsons, Stephen Stanton and Lucas Till.

Michael Jackson’s Thriller has become the first album in RIAA Gold & Platinum Program history to be certified 33x Diamond for United States sales and streams, it was announced by the Recording Industry of America (RIAA), the Estate of Michael Jackson, Epic Records and Legacy Recordings (the catalog division of Sony Music Entertainment). Thriller is still the ONLY album ever to have surpassed the RIAA’s 30x million mark in U.S. sales.
