safe haven

Relativity Music Group and Republic Records’ original track “We Both Know,” co-written and recorded by 2x Grammy® Award-winner Colbie Caillat and Gavin DeGraw for Relativity’s upcoming romantic thriller Safe Haven, is now available on iTunes® (http://smarturl.it/ColbieWeBothKnowiTns).

Written for the film, ”We Both Know” was produced by Grammy®-winning songwriter Dan Wilson and will also appear on the soundtrack, to be released by Relativity Music Group and Republic Records in February 2013.

In theatres Valentine’s Day 2013, Safe Haven is directed by Oscar®-nominee Lasse Hallström and based on the best-selling novel by Nicholas Sparks from a screenplay by Dana Stevens and Gage Lansky. The film stars Josh Duhamel (Transformers, Life As We Know It), Julianne Hough (Rock of Ages, Footloose), Cobie Smulders (The Avengers, How I Met Your Mother) and David Lyons (Eat Pray Love, J.J. Abrams’) and is an affirming and suspenseful story about a young woman who struggles to find love again after she arrives in a small North Carolina town. Safe Haven was produced by Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey, Sparks and Relativity’s CEO Ryan Kavanaugh.

Caillat said, “My friend Gavin and I were on tour together this summer when I was approached to write a song for Safe Haven. I had never written a song for a soundtrack so was thrilled to be asked.”

DeGraw added, “Colbie came to me and we co-wrote the song together. We had so much fun collaborating on our first song together and hope the fans will enjoy it.”

After receiving a record breaking 14 million plays of songs she posted on MySpace while still in her teens, Colbie Caillat was signed by Universal Republic and launched into a career whose highlights include two Grammy awards and four nominations, a double-Platinum album, a Gold album, six Platinum digital singles , BMI Pop Awards for Song and Songwriter of the Year and a performance at the 2010 Nobel Peace Prize Concert.

DeGraw broke into the scene in 2003 with his hit “I Don’t Want to Be” and the release of his first album “Chariot.” The album sold over a million copies and earned platinum certification. DeGraw has since released three more albums including his latest single “Soldier,” which is actively climbing the Billboard charts.

Up next, Relativity Music Group will release soundtracks for Focus Features’ Hyde Park on Hudson and Promiseland as well as Relativity’s 21 and Over.

AVICII JUMPS TO #3 ON DJ MAG’S TOP 100 LIST OF TOP DJS

23-year-old Swedish DJ/Producer Avicii has rocketed to #3 on the legendary DJ Magazine’s annual list of Top 100 DJs, moving from 39 to 6 to 3 since his first appearance on the list in 2010. The accellerated pace of his climb up the chart, which is voted on by fans, makes him the youngest DJ who has been on the list for the shortest amount of time, and comes in a year with a nonstop performance schedule and unprecedent success with  hit after hit, such as ’Levels,’ ’Silhouettes’ and ’Superlove.’ Link to photos: www.avicii.com/presskit.zip

Avicii, aka Tim Bergling, will have played over 300 shows by the end of 2012, and his LE7ELS arena tour (le7els.com) has been the biggest and most advanced live production the EDM scene has seen thus far. Avicii has headlined gigantic festivals like Ultra, Lollapalooza, ACL and others, played three nights at Yankee Stadium returning the favor of Madonna’s Ultra appearance and had a hugely successful residency in Ibiza. He advanced the cause of music by bringing EDM for the first time to legendary arenas such as Santa Monica Civic Auditorium and Radio City Music Hall where the NY Times called his performance ”exuberant.”

Earlier this year Avicii and his manager Ash Pournouri, founder of  At Night Management, partnered with Ralph Lauren for Bergling to become the face of Denim & Supply Ralph Lauren, becoming the first celebrity partner in the venerable label’s history. The relationship has proved extremly successful, extending to next year.

Pournouri and Avicii have taken steps to share their success and give back to the world that has embraced them.  They are working hard to bring awareness to the values of love and unity that house music has always been about, and have created House for Hunger Foundation. They funded the launch of their foundation with personal income derived from touring, and House for Hunger’s first action was to donate $l million to Feeding America. In 2013, Avicii and Pournouri will launch a second initiative in Europe to raise l million Euros for African hunger charities.

“We’ve worked hard this past year to nurture the brand and broaden Avicii past just being a DJ and producer, creating a presence in fashion and philanthropy,” said Pournouri. ”We are honored to have such loyal and supportive fans – the third place on the Top 100  is a testament to this.”

Next year, fans can look forward to Avicii devoting more time in the studio creating new music and bigger (but fewer) shows around the world.
