Los Angeles, June 10, 2015 – SESAC Latina’s annual celebration honoring the enormous successes and creative talent of its songwriters, publishers and affiliates is shaping into one of the most exciting nights in music when superstars Fonseca, Nicky Jam & Noel Torres perform at the SESAC Latina Music Awards 2015, Wednesday, June 17th, at The Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles. Fonseca, will also receive the prestigious SESAC Latina Contemporary Icon Award, the first of its kind given by the organization. The evening’s celebration will be hosted by SESAC Latina’s Vice President J. J. Cheng and SESAC’s Senior Vice President Trevor Gale.
The SESAC Latina Music Awards honor the creative talent of SESAC Latina songwriters, publishers and affiliates, including an impressive list of No. 1 charted songs and songs with extraordinary radio rotation.
Last month, Fonseca joined the long list of SESAC Latina chart toppers with his song “Juntos,” co-written with and performed by fellow Colombian superstar Juanes. The song is featured on the Disney film McFarland USA, starring Kevin Costner, and hit No. 1 on the Billboard Latin Airplay and Latin Pop charts last month.
Nicky Jam is one of the pioneers of the urban music movement and is also the winner of the YouTube 2015 award with his song “El Perdón,” obtaining more than 115 million views since the song’s release this past January. The track has also been No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Streaming Songs chart for a total of 9 consecutive weeks, as well as on the Latin Digital Songs chart for 13 weeks, Latin Rhythm Airplay for 11 weeks, and Latin Streaming Songs for 9 weeks.
Noel Torres, who has recently been called “The New Idol of Regional Mexican Music,” has been rocketing up charts worldwide with his newest album La Balanza. The album’s first single “Me Interesas,” written by SESAC affiliate Luciano Luna, reached the No. 1 spot in rotation in Mexican radio and on the iTunes Regional Mexican Chart for being the best-selling digital track of the genre. That amazing accomplishment was repeated with his second single, “Para Que Tantos Besos,” also written by Luna. His party anthem ‘Amanecí Con Ganas,’ was written by the SESAC affiliate Maria Luisa Inzunza, and showcases the perfect blend of Norteño Music and Banda that has helped him earn a staggering total of 200 million views on YouTube and a sky-high number of followers on social media.
