MEXICAN POP BAND CAMILA SCORE BIG AT 11th ANNUAL LATIN GRAMMY AWARDS IN LAS VEGAS

Record of The Year, Best Pop Album By A Duo or Group With Vocal, Best Song of The Year.

Superstar pop/rock band Camila were one of the big winners tonight at the 2010 Latin Grammy Awards, winning in the top categories of:Record of The Year ‘Mientes’; Best Pop Album By A Duo or Group With Vocal for ‘Dejarte De Amar’;  and  Song of The Year for ‘Mientes’, which was written by band member/producer Mario Domm and Mónica Vélez.During the awards, which were broadcast live on Univision from the Mandalay Bay Event Center in Las Vegas, the band performed their latest hit single, “Besame”, with cast members and fantasy special effects from the spectacular hit show, Le Reve.

Camila is currently touring Latin America with sold out shows throughout Venezuela, Colombia and Mexico. The first leg of Camila’s  Dejarte de Amar tour was a huge success with sold out shows in Puerto Rico, Miami, New York, Chicago, L.A., SF and acclaimed as “one of the best shows of 2010”.

In the US, Camila’s nominated album Dejarte de Amar debuted #1 on the Billboard Top Latin Album Chart, stayed there for two weeks, and has remain for 37 weeks at the top of the charts. The first single from the album “Mientes”, was #1 for 10 weeks on the US Pop Charts and for 13 consecutive weeks in Mexico.  Camila’s most recent hit single, “Alejate de Mi” has been #1 for 5 weeks on the Billboard Latin Pop Airplay Chart, and “Besame”, their current single, is on its way to a similar success.

Camila is Latin music’s biggest success story of the decade, and their success is global. Each member brings an incredible amount of musicianship to the group.  Founded by multiple award-winning composer and producer Mario Domm, one of the hottest producers in Latin music, Camila is composed of Mario, Pablo Hurtado and Samo, who are songwriters, producers, arrangers and superstar performers. They have been together for four years, and have toured for more than three, honing a sound and connection with one another that is magic.

El grupo multi-platino Camila fue uno de los grandes ganadores de la noche de hoy durante la décima primera entrega anual de los Latin Grammy, llevándose un total de 3 premios en las categorías más importantes incluyendo: Grabación Del Año ‘Mientes’, Mejor Álbum Vocal Pop Dúo o Grupo ‘Dejarte De Amar’, y Mejor Canción Del Año ‘Mientes’, escrita por Mario Doom, miembro y productor del grupo junto con Monica Velez.Durante la ceremonia que fue transmitida en vivo por Univision desde el Mandalay Bay Event Center de Las Vegas, el grupo interpreto su éxito más reciente, “Bésame”, en compañía del elenco y de los efectos especiales del aclamado show, Le Reve.

Camila se encuentra de gira por Latinoamérica donde han vendido en su totalidad fechas en Venezuela, Colombia y México. La primera parte de su gira Dejarte de Amar fue un éxito total con conciertos vendidos en su totalidad en Puerto Rico, Miami, New York, Chicago, Los Ángeles, San Francisco, entre otras. El show ha sido elogiado como en ‘uno de los mejores espectáculos del 2010’.

En Estados Unidos, el álbum nominado, Dejarte de Amar debuto # 1 en la lista Top Latin Álbum de Billboard, permaneciendo en esta posición por dos semanas y se ha mantenido por 37 semanas en el Top de la lista de ventas. El primer sencillo del disco, “Mientes” estuvo #1 por 10 semanas en Estados Unidos y 13 semanas consecutivas en México. El éxito mas reciente de Camila,  “Aléjate de Mi”, ha estado #1 por 5 semanas en la lista Latin Pop Airplay Chart de la revista Billboard y su nuevo sencillo, “Bésame”, va por el mismo camino de éxito que los sencillos anteriores.
