Two-time Latin Grammy and Grammy nominee Angela Aguilar will perform at the 2019 SESAC Latina Music AwardsWednesday, June 5, in Beverly Hills, California, it was announced today by SESAC. Aguilar will join previously announced performers Banda Los Sebastianes and Valentino at the annual event.
At only 15, Angela Aguilar has taken the world of regional Mexican music by storm. This year, she was the youngest American Grammy nominee, with her album Primero Soy Mexicana. Beginning her career at the age of 3, Aguilar is the daughter multi-Grammy and Latin Grammy winner Pepe Aguilar, and granddaughter of Mexican film and music legends Antonio Aguilar and Flor Silvestre. In 2018, Billboard named Angela Aguilar’s album one of the Best Latin Albums of the Year and recognized her as one of 2019’s top 10 Latin artist to watch. She was also named as part of Teen Vogue’s 16 Young Musicians You Need to Be Listening To In 2019. The Los Angeles Times wrote, “The young Angela Aguilar leads a bold new wave of female acts.”

The SESAC Latina Music Awards honors the successes of its songwriters and publishers and presents awards for the most-performed songs of the year, including Song of the Year, Publisher of the Year and Songwriter of the Year. At the annual event, industry artists, publishers and record company executives gather for a night of celebration and great musical performances.
Angela Aguilar, Banda Los Sebastianes and Valentino are the most recent in the long line of superstars such as Christian Nodal, Intocable, Erika Ender, Nicky Jam, Calibre 50, Reik, and Jencarlos Canela, who have performed at the annual SESAC Latina event. As announced earlier this month, the acclaimed performer/songwriter/producer Enrique Bunbury will receive the rarely awarded SESAC Latina Icon Award at the awards event.
