JENNI RIVERA TO BE NAMED SPOKESPERSON FOR THE NCADV (NATIONAL COALITION AGAINST DOMESTIC VIOLENCE)

MULTI PLATINUM RECORDING ARTIST WILL SHARE HER EXPERIENCE AND HOPE AT AUGUST 4 CONVENTION IN ANAHEIM

On August 4th, Recording superstar Jenni Rivera will be officially appointed national spokes person for the NCADV during their annual conference in Anaheim, CA, and at 12Noon will speak to its members about her experience as a victim of domestic violence.

The NCADV has been working since 1978 to end domestic violence in urban and rural areas, across all racial, religious and economic groups.  Rita Smith the executive director of the NACDV says:  “We are thrilled to have Jenni Rivera join our efforts at NCADV to raise awareness, offer hope and challenge others to help us achieve our vision to make every home a safe home. Her experience, talent and commitment to ending violence in the home is a great gift and we look forward to working with her on many projects.”

Rivera has always been vocal about her personal experiences as a victim of abuse, and worked with many local agencies helping women and children in L.A. and Long Beach. She decided to partner with the NCADV, which is one of the nation’s most respected international organizations against domestic violence, in order to reach more people and to continue to be a powerful voice of inspiration to women and children everywhere, especially in the Latino community.
Jenni has emerged as the most important female voice in regional music, the biggest selling and most popular genre in Latin music. Rivera introduced through song the heretofore radical notion that women could be depicted as real people with ideas and aspirations of their own. In her life, Jenni has fought for women’s rights, for protection of children subject to abuse, and had dedicated herself to the empowerment and protection of battered women everywhere.  Since the release of her  groundbreaking debut album La Chacalosa in 1995, Jenni has released more than 12 hit albums, all reaching Platinum and Gold status in the US and Mexico.  She stays in close touch with her fans, and her songs have become anthems of female empowerment for her millions of fans and she is followed by more than 85,000 fans on Twitter.

The official announcement will be made Wednesday, August 4th at the Hilton Anaheim in CA where Jenni will be the closing keynote speaker of the conference.
